Ankle wedge boots for slouchy tapered trousers?

Hi everyone,

I have a pair of slouchy tapered trousers on the way that I'm hoping will work for me, and now I'm thinking about footwear, of course;-)

I would like a pair of black wedge boots, I think, ankle height or maybe a little taller. They have to be leather, and a heel of 2" to 3" inch max would be best.

I'm curious to see which styles you like for this silhouette. All suggestions welcome.

Also: I always have trouble finding black footwear that I love (not counting knee-high boots), I just find it more difficult than other colours. Is it just me?-)

I have never managed to get ankle boots to work with my slouchy tapered trousers, the hem would catch awkwardly on the top of the boot which in turn would ruin the drape. For that reason I would probably look for something more bootie length in a similar style to Angie's fab leopard print wedges.

Inge, I think booties are better for slouchy trousers as Julie suggests. Unless you can wear a taller ankle boot under the trousers. Does that make sense?

I like pumps with slouchy trousers too.

I have some back suede booties that end below ankle bone. I find they are flattering and go well with many tipes of pants/skirts. But they are a 3 inch heel ( not very chunky) . Still, a silhouette you might wanna try , but with the wedge.

Booties or taller ankle boots that will fit under the trousers, thank you ladies, that makes perfect sense, of course! I like pumps with this silhouette too, Angie, but was thinking of the colder weather ahead, and I'm lacking in the booties department, so I think I should focus on those first;-)

Good strategy! Ankle booties with very slouchy tops will also work because you can tuck in the hems of the trousers.
