Ankle booties w/ jeans tucked in, for pearshapes?

I recently caved and bought a pair of ankle booties to commute to work in. They are insanely comfortable but i'm unsure of how I like them with jeans tucked in.

I have spent many years avoiding this exact styling because I assumed it would make pearshaped women look short and stumpy, but i'd love everyone's thoughts! http://bit.ly/1dSdMe2

I have been avoiding it too for the same reason. although the black boots with black trousers doesn't look stumpifying to my eye.

I think this sort of classic moto boot style flatters most.

Not stumpifying. I think motoboots are a good choice because they visually weight/ground outfits. Personally, I think the danger for everyone with skinnies (and small feet too actually) is the upside down pinhead effect. Everybody can look really top heavy - Betty Boop in a bad way.

I do this all the time; I think heavier boots help to balance out the pear booty.

Those are cute - I always pair chunky ankle boots to balance everything out. I still can't pull the trigger on dressier ankle boots because of that fear of the peg leg.

I think your outfit's adorable, and quite flattering as well. Possibly the fact that the pants and boots are of similar tonality makes a difference. As a fellow pear (with "curvy" legs as well, if that makes any sense) I've yet to find skinny jeans that I thought looked good on me. You've inspired me to try again, this time with some chunky boots in tow.

rachylou: interesting comment re: small feet. I never thought of this being a problem because in skinnies I've noticed that my large feet have nowhere to hide! A boot might help balance this too for big and small feet alike?

I'm a pear shape and tuck all my boots, mid calf, ankle and tall one's. I'm a huge fan of moto style boots, I own four pairs (two tall one's, and one short one that laces up and one short one with buckles).

I was hesitant, too, but I've grown to love this and it is a FFBO for me now. I have 2 pr of Frye Veronica shorties and they both work for this look. I just wish the black back-zip ones were looser around the top like yours are. I might look into stretching them somehow? I think this visually grounds the proportion as diana mentioned. Any thoughts on stretching?

No, they look really good! Because they are a biker boot with a flat heel and a mid upper, they work really well! I would avoid the daintier versions of low boots with kitten heels--those are the ones that will have the undesired effect!
