Ah, I don't know. I've seen them in stores but I have never tried one... Only one way to find out...

It's a matte silk blouse, so I would think it would be fine for work as long as you wear the appropriate underlayers.

I think it would be work appropriate would look fab with pencil skirts, trousers, skinnies and possibly even over a sheath dress.

Interesting how they show the tawny with lots of camisole and the emerald with none. I like the shirt and it may well be worth trying, though for work wear, I would want a sure- fire, non-fussy way for coverage and can't tell if this would provide it. Hope it works for you, because it looks great and it is refreshing to see something a bit different.

And, bunny stranglers aside, what would be undesirable about emphasizing your shape? I think you have a lovely figure.

I am an IT and I can tell you the wrap blouse (from Zara) I tried did not work. It made my already long torso even longer, and my IT shoulders very imposing... which did not do my short height any favors. On this particular model, the wrap is not horizontal but slanted, which brings the focus to the centre, making the waist appear narrower. So it might distract from the longness. It also droops the shoulders somehow, which is good. Silk crepe is also very fluid. So it may work. However I would make sure returns are possible and not too costly.

I say the only way to know is to try it. I personally might shy away from this particular top because of those flap pockets on the chest, combined with the volume, but I would still try it on because sometimes it works even on my big boobs (i.e., the Equipment shirts).

I do think this could work well on you. I would love to be an IT for a day.

You know, I looked at Angie's post of those blouses and instantly thought, NO WAY will these ever work for me. I'll look like a big block swathed in tulle. I'd be curious to see if you tried one, fellow IT.

I think you could rock it, especially with that shade of green and the drapey fabric. Might want to consider an underlayer for work, though.

As for will it work on an IT, well, I think it would enhance your IT shape. On the other hand, you actually have shoulders for it to stay on!

As for work, how fashion forward is your workplace? Where I work, it would get A LOT of stares, and people might ask what happened to your shirt.

I think you should buy it and try it, which will save me from trying to figure out if the shape works for me. I suspect it will look nice with slim fitting bottoms and that the draping will just read as garment volume, not as you volume. However, I feel like I've tried things like this before without luck. I just don't know if that was because my eye wasn't ready for them yet, or if they don't work for ITs. (And I definitely think that it would be could be work appropriate, although you will want a dressy tank to wear underneath. I don't think a tube top will do it. ;0)

ETA: I went back and looked at Angie's description and my interpretation is that this is very likely to work for our body shape. BUY AND TRY!

Una, I need to vicariously live thru you with this gorgeous piece. Or at least, I need you to be the guinea pig for it. I really hope it works on you. To my mind, I don't see that it would exacerbate your IT-ness.

The emerald is lovely (the other is pretty for the right coloring).

To me the style shown is too "maximal" for work--too attention-seeking. Some of the other wrap blouses were less so. I would think of the more maxi blouse as for going out.
The IT aspect is interesting. IT shoulders are actually a help in filling out the drapey style. I would think reasonable balance as in, not the biggest widest drapey top (don't need to be too upsized) if wearing slim-fitting bottoms.
