I am blown away, Ingunn - our Queen Capsule. You are AMAZING - and enjoy shopping your wonderful closet. It gives me great joy to watch you have fun. Love how you added the dress and skirt to suit your style persona. And white jeans are year round so high five. You look k-word worthy spectacular.

Oh, I forgot to answer your questions:

  • Wear white till the cows come home - year round
  • Mustard and green look great together. Fresh with white.
  • Fabulous white shirt, houndstooth dress and snake belt

I bow down to you...you are the capsule queen! So much variety with so few pieces. Bravo! All looks are winners

WOW. This post should come with a warning label: high likelihood of *plonking*. You certainly make 6 tops look versatile and interesting!

I hardly feel worthy of critiquing, but I agree with Suz that a brown bootie would be a nice mix in, maybe a shade that bookends your hair color.

Ramya, thanks! I'll check it out.

Angie, thank you for giving me so much inspiration, every day! Dressing has never been more fun in my life. To take your ideas and play around with them brings so much joy. If I'm able to give a little back to you and this wonderful community, nothing could please me more.

Thank you, Missey and Laurinda! Critique is valuable to me, so please continue providing it. Fortunately I already own the brown booties called for - I'm going to bring them out to play very soon

My fave is #5 and love the blue skirt esp. with the blue top.

As for white in Fall... eh, I'm still not a lover of white, although I really do love my hippie lace white outfit for summer. And I really don't feel white for Fall. But it's hard because I never "feel the white."

Color me impressed! GREAT capsule, and I especially love how versatile the patterned pieces are with other items in your wardrobe. Love this post, and I'm so glad that you are having fun - it really shows.

Ingunn you never disappoint when you start cooking your wardrobe. I LOVE the green jacket with the white jeans. I also love it with that silk blouse. (Glad it was saved!) I think white is so crisp and fresh and should not be hidden away just because the weather changes. Wear white until you're tired of looking at it. I also don't think I should whip out the burnt oranges, teals, and moss greens just because its fall if I love those colors year round.

I really like the green blazer with the houndstooth dress and the mustard scarf. I think they are similar hues so adding in a deeper more saturated shade navy or red would set both colors off. I don't love the gray boots with the houndstooth dress. In full disclosure booties with skirts and dresses aren't my favorite look.

The new houndstooth dress, snakeskin belt and white Anne Fontaine blouse are all fabulous. I LOVE the snakeskin belt with the jeans and the blouse fits you well. I like that it's collarless. Well done as usual.

So Impressive! Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share this!

I just had to log in to give you props for this post. Firstly, it was very inspiring to see every single possible combo. It made me want to try the same. I did, and it was exhausting! And also informative. While it seemed like every combo worked on you, I found only a 50% success rate with my own mixes. It also taught me that while I'm constantly telling myself I don't need more tops, I was really pressed to find my 6 tops. One of them will probably be purged now because I didn't love a single outfit that featured it.

Secondly, you are so adorable. I love all the little tweaks that you made to each and every outfit to make it unique. A scarf here, a collar tweak there, purse adjustments, etc. well done!

Amazing! I love your white jeans outfits, and you should absolutely wear them in the fall. The striped top is also a favorite. Forgive me for not reading all the comments (yet) but your description and the pictures were a joy to read and see!

Thank you, Kari, Tracey and Shevia! I'm so happy you enjoyed seeing this.

Rachy, you are definitely entitled to refrain from wearing or liking white for winter.

DV, thank you for taking time for such detailed feedback. I'm glad you approve of the green+mustard, I liked it myself, too. I also note that you, like several, are not in favor of the light booties with the dress. I agree, I have better options in my wardrobe already.

Traci, how fun that you tried this yourself! It IS a lot of work, but rewarding. I don't think all my outfits work equally well. What I got away with was that I loved around 1/3, found the next 1/3 acceptable, and probably 1/3 will never be worn anywhere. I also learned that I really don't love the navy skirt at all, so now it's in my holding zone. I learned a lot about combining white in fall outfits, which was the best outcome for me.

Ingunn, this is glorious! I am always so inspired by your ability to take a handful of items and put together so many different looks! You look amazing

As *lynn puts it...
What do you think of my new houndstooth dress? LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

Capsule inspiration factor: 100!

Oh, Ingunn, you and Suz and Kellygirl have all inspired me to work my closet with Angie's Casual Fall Capsule, and it will be a heck of a lot easier with you showing me the way.

Every variation works beautifully and your toppers add something that make each unique. Plus, I'm so happy to see you wearing white in the fall, because here in Southern California, we can do this, too. Nicely done, Ingunn.

Wow, what a great capsule, Ingunn. I really like the mustard pants (although they look a bit more nutmeg or cinnamon to me), especially with the Breton, the navy top, the abstract silk blouse, and the white blouse. I think the green jacket looks fine in these combos with the pants.
Love, love the houndstooth dress, all ways you've styled it. What a fabulous dress for you!
I like the way you've styled the white jeans for fall and think they look perfectly fine for the season. I'm hoping to wear mine into the fall, too. It's hard for me to do, in rainy weather especially, but I'm going to try to wear them on dreary days that aren't especially wet. (I worry about splashing them.)
I like the new belt, too; it really pulls together a lot of elements in these outfits--the white, the light colored booties, the black shoes, just about everything, come to think of it!
The blouse is a super find. the fit is fantastic, and it looks terrific with these outfits.
You say above that you are not as wild about some of the skirt outfits, but it has a kind of schoolgirl vibe, which is fun.
Your stone booties are reading "gray" to me in these photos, so they're not as good with the dress and mustard pants as I expected. But I'm guessing they look different IRL. I have some things that come out that way in photos, too, and I swear they look fine off-camera!

You are making me want to play in my closet. I can't wait to get my move behind me so I can start having fun with fashion again, like you..but enough about me....what a fantastic capsule! I love your use of white for fall and am going to copy! Love all versions of the houndstooth dress! And your green jacket is absolutely gorgeous with your coloring and so very versatile with your wardrobe. Excellent work, Ingunn. Thanks for such great examples.

Wow! You completely inspired me with this. I am going to go play in my own closet and see what I can come up with. Love the green jacket. The white pants were excellent.
