Angie, I am today counting my blessings for your wonderful advice which has seeped into my consciousness like water into porous rock, you are a gem for sharing your knowledge so freely.
About a year ago, after reading Parisian Chic, I set my sights on a v neck navy sweater which fits my climate, style aesthetic and colour palette perfectly BUT I also knew this item would be hard to find on my limited (less than £300 per annum) budget.
Instead of feeling disheartened I knew that I had to use the triple P purchasing principle http://youlookfab.com/2012/01/.....principle/ and leave no retail stone unturned.
Yesterday my patience was rewarded at a Lyle and Scott sample sale where I sourced a mens size small, merino wool, vintage line navy sweater for £25.00.

Yes there is a logo but this brand is important to our local area so I'm more than happy to sport the eagle (besides the gold reflects my new watch perfectly).
Before YLF I would have:
a) put the item out of my mind
b) bought an inferior item
c) compromised on the colour, the neckline...something.
I am happy to have put Angie's principle in action and would love to know which style advice has changed your perspective recently?
