This is a bit of a random post but I felt compelled to write.
I am a newbie on YLF, so have been going over some old posts just catch up.
I read one of your old posts that said you are 5"6...

I must say I thought you were super tall from your photos!
I think it's because I am around the same height as you (5"5) but not as lovely and slim. I just thought you may like to know that you appear model tall from your photos!

I really enjoy the 'Angie's outfits' posts... I find the visuals (rather than reading) inspirational, and I love the background images (different neighborhoods in Seattle)

I am glad you do posts on what to wear when it's cold and wet - sounds like New Zealand!

I am regular height at 5ft 6 and seldom wear heels over 1.5 inches - 2 inches max and flats are my favourite. It's interesting that you perceived me as tall when I am not tall at all.

Well, technically Angie, you are tall-- the average woman in the U.S. is still only between 5'3" and 5'4", so which you aren't going to be joining some of our other truly statuesque ladies on a YLF pro basketball team, you are technically several inches taller than average! Plus, you are long-limbed which plays into the equation. Thought I would through a little random statistical skeletal anatomy in.

I have always thought of you as tall as well, Angie, because like Ellie said 5'6 is a few inches taller than the average woman in the US. Then it occurred to me that you might feel that you aren't because you are thinking about women in the Netherlands and, sure enough, when I looked it up the average woman there is 5'6 1/2.

I actually found this average height chart for countries across the world very interesting. The Netherlands are definitely among a small handful of the tallest countries. So you're actually a good bit taller than the majority of women in the world! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H....._the_world

Speaking of 5'6" being tall...

When I was about 8 years old I went with my mom to retrieve some dry cleaning and the woman working there told me that I was going to grow up to be tall like my mother. It stood out to me because my mom, at 5'6", had never seem particularly tall to me (at least not by adult standards). Interestingly enough, the dry cleaning lady was wrong, I'm on the short side of average at barely 5'3".

Kristie, I think Angie,and some of the other forum members, look way taller in photos, too. We had a thread on our actual height and size and there were some real surprises!

I remember that thread, Lynne. And I posted a blog post on height recently too. (I find it hard to judge height on a photograph).

Elly, I thoroughly enjoyed your random statistical skeletal anatomy lesson.

Steph, you are spot on. The Netherlands is one of the tallest countries in the world and I am short there for sure. Walking around Hong Kong and Mexico City, I am on the taller (and very blonde)side of the continuum. Thanks for the chart!

You do look taller than 5'6", Angie. Being slender and knowing how to dress your figure probably helps, too! And I understand why you feel like you are "average" height. We've got Danish friends who used to live here, then moved back to Denmark, who were thinking about holding their daughter back from her first year of school because she is so tiny. I was surprised, because their daughter is exactly as tall as my own -- definitely on the small side, but not freakishly so. When I asked them about it, they said, yes, she's pretty average in North America, but here in Denmark, she's miniature! The parents are what I'd call fairly tall -- the dad is about 5'11", but they explained that he's SMALL for a Danish man! So I guess it's all comparison.
