I hereby crown you a Polka Dot Princess

Sveta, I LOVE my KS full skirt and wear it often - like yesterday with dressy flats and a denim jacket.

No time to read through all of the comments but I just had to say that you were MADE to wear midis, Sveta! I'm so glad you finally succumbed! There two were fabulous finds.

completely amazing! you totally rock the full midi look!

Sveta,
You look wonderful in these skirts! They fit perfectly. I am a little unclear about what constitutes a midi. I used to think of them as being mid calf but is it really anything longer than knee length but shorter than ankle length?

Thanks everybody for sharing my joy!
AJ, you are a hoot! This paper dol business...
Angie, I am getting the courage to wear this polka dot skirt to work. It feels too attention grabing because of the bold pattern and puffy shape. I thried it yesterday with a denim shirt and two-tone flat oxfords and rather liked the unexpected twist even thogh it may have been not the mst flattering look. Maybe I should post it before trying it out...
Meredith and Laura, I think Angie classified midis as "finish somewhere between the bottom of the kneecap and the bottom of the calf". Per this definition this striped skirt definitely is midi and polka dot one is a borderline between midid and knee length.

Wow, Sveta (or should I address you as Princess Polka Dot?), these are both amazing on you and so stylish! Kudos to your mom, too, because the fit on both is really splendid. I could totally see you wearing these to work with the right outfit. It might feel really bold initially, but then you'll adapt :). You'll be hooked on thrifting now, for sure!

Ok, that is a serious supermodel pose in the last photo. Svelt Sveta!

I think I came the full circle with the skirts now. Before YLF I wore full midi skirts only. I think I got tired from the same shape and also I did not do a good job of styling them either. Sure I learned even prior to YLF that these skirts look good with a tucked in or very short fitted top but having this as the only option was pretty limiting. When Angie and the forum helped me to discover that I can also wear sheath dresses and pencil skirts I switched over with a gusto. Now after 2 years I came back to midis but with renewed style so I hope they will not be orphans in my closet. I have one flared black skirt and had troubles with styling it but it is shorter - ending on the top of the knee and I think it makes a difference.
As I usually post my weekly WIW you will see if I am able to give these skirts a good workout!

Sveta: I love that you found these skirts, bought them, your Mom's phenomenal alterations and how amazingly they work on you and your body!! Gorgeous!!
