Ok, this is it. I have a confession to make. When I went shopping this weekend, I had two items in mind. A printed top/sweater in spring colours and a cobalt blue blazer. At GAP, I saw this blazer and totally fell for it. It was too hard to resist as it was on 30% off plus I had a coupon on top of it so in total I got it at 60% off the original price. My biggest shopping weakness is buying items on sale, although I dont really need them. I own a grey academy blazer already and dont really need this one but .........Please help me keep or return? too similar? Is the striped one too big?

Okay. Here is the thing.

How often do you wear a blazer in spring weather? (I am betting almost always.)
How many do you have?
How many days in a week?
What is the cost per wear of this baby likely to be?
Do you have another patterned blazer?

I think this could actually end up being extremely versatile and wearable and even fill a wardrobe hole you didn't know you had. If at 60% off it is really, really inexpensive then I would be inclined to keep.

But if it would make the purchase of "your" leather jacket less likely, then take it back as fast as you can!

Suz, all great questions. ok, let's see. I wear blazers at least three days a week. Right now I have six blazers (3 of them are winter and the rest are kind of all year round), two denim jackets and a taupe pleather jacket. They are all solid colurs except two. None of them are patterned. Oh my "leather" jacket , yes I should totally save for it as that will be a keeper for many years to come. Hmmmm.....I am thinking this has to go back.

It does look great on you Mona, but I think the leather jacket will serve you better for a longer period of time.

This fits well, but I think a cobalt color would flatter your coloring more. And is preppy part of your style?

Yes, it does look great, but that is no surprise since you have the other color. It sounds like you are already having some sales remorse, so I vote return and save for the leather jacket!

I love both blazers, surprisingly (for me) the striped blazer is my favorite. Am I encouraging bad behavior if I high five you for snagging both?

I am not a fan of the stripes and think you need to get a cobalt one and save for a leather.

hmmm....if you kept both, would one blazer be chosen more often over the other?
To be honest, I prefer #1 in the pics you've shown...but I think we are not seeing #2 in all it's blazing glory. Push up the sleeves, pair of botfriends (top not below blazer, or pair of white pants could change things dramatically.

It looks cute but to Shannon's point - if you can add one jacket to your spring wardrobe maybe it should be the Danier's beauty? (I know, I am a spoiler...)

If you would be wearing both blazers with mostly the same pieces, I vote for #1 and saving your money for a leather jacket.

If you can return despite the fact that it was on sale, then I would recommend doing it. This is "cute" but I am not a fan of the big horizontal stripes. The first jacket looks good.

You are worth more than a double sale. Don't let yourself be bossed around by sales.

Suz is right, jackets become a basic in in-between seasons. You want something that will make you 100% happy. And cobalt blue would look terrific on you.

I own a striped blazer from BR and while I do adore the stripes, I find stripes on a blazer challenging to pair with items. It's harder to wear prints that don't clash and I end up with a limited selection of solid color tops. I've found my solid color blazers easier to remix. But if you want a statement piece, a striped blazer will work. I now stick to my stripes in layering tops instead.

I think you look adorable in it, but the one you have already is also very pretty. I think I vote return, but I can absolutely understand why you bought it in the first place!

Im not a fan of it, but if you keep it I think it would be better with the sleeves hemmed. Seems like a item that you could tire of easily and may be dated soon. I do love your other blazer, it looks really great and seems very versatile as well. I would return stripey and save your money for that great leather jacket that you'd get a lot of use from

I'll be a contrarian and say I love the striped one. The stripes are big and there's something very current and modern about it. I agree with Lisa that I would style it with solid colors - I've got a striped blazer too (it's gray and white too actually) and it is a tiny bit less go-with-everything than solid blazers, but it's so much more interesting. With a plain knit top or button up, of which I have many, it really jazzes things up.

So I would ask yourself what would you be wearing it with, and would those things work as an outfit without you having to buy more new stuff (which I am gathering you don't want to do right now).
