The grey are sized up & the toffee are my size. My question is about size mostly & if you like any at all. There seems to be too much scrunch or it doesn't play well with shoe choices & I feel like they look too big, not so much on the hips in smaller toffee one but something seems off. I'm not in love with either but if I can't figure out why. If I find a size I like I might get both colours as I haven't found any other full length winter pant. I'm trying with these shoes as they are work pants & need to work with flat shoes for some of my jobs.

Sorry for so many pics but I'm showing with more refined flat oxfords & chunkier low heeled bootie. I think they may only look good with heels, though I loved the styled photo of them on BR website with sneakers. They were very slouchy in that shot too so I'm unsure why the slouch doesn't look good on me.

i prefer the size up...especially in a light color. drapes better.

These look better sized up on you than they did on me. I think there was something about the cut of the rise, depth and thighs that was off on me. I like them on you but I have a bit of sour grapes so I think you need to wait for more opinions.

Disclaimer I bought these pants in my regular size in grey. I felt too sloppy if I sized up.I tried styling in various ways - prefer how the pants look with a bit of heel.
And that's how I like them best on you - the smaller size and with your low heeled booties. It is amazing the difference in pic 1 and 8 - I had to reread your post to realize the pant size was the same!

I think the grey look way too big, but I seem to be losing my love for too much slouch. I even think the camel look a bit big but I definitely like them more. Maybe it's the amount of scrunch -- you're right, there is a lot.

I like the size of the toffee ones better, but I don't have a huge tolerance for a lot of slouch. There is plenty of ease in the toffee ones, to my eye.

But I have such an awful time with pants, everyone else looks good to me!

It doesn't sound like you're loving either one. Is it just a different style for you or is there some other discomfort factor?

I prefer the smaller size, and if you decide to keep I would hem them a little so that they drape better. But if you are not in love with them I would send them back.

I ordered these grey ones, too, in my regular size. Other than being long, they fit. Like you, I just couldn't get used to all the slouch. I felt that to offset it would take a very disciplined looking pointy black pump ... And I wouldn't be able to wear that combination in the winter.

Spanner here. I love the slouch on the grey. I would iron out the crease though - it seems too structured for that insouciant slouchy look.

Eta: maybe they are a smudge too long with these shoes. (This is true of both sizes so I think it has nothing to do with the slouch.)

So maybe it is the length I am uncomfortable with. I don't mind some slouch & have a couple of pairs of slouchy track pants. They are very skinny at the hem though, where the elastic or ribbing is & they are shorter too. Perhaps the suggestion to remove the crease will help too. These are not the dot fabric Angie posted either. Maybe the dot fabric is softer. I think I read somewhere they are slightly. That can affect drape.

Yes...I wonder how they would look pinned up just a bit. And yes, I also read that about the fabrications being different in the different patterns. The dot supposedly drapes better.

I wear mine the same size as the toffee. I prefer the smaller size on you, actually. You look TERRIFIC in these trousers.

Those toffee pants are great!

I also think hemming, and you may want to take more than one pair of footwear, to find the sweet spot. You want some break and scrunch but not a lot of buckling through the whole leg.

Here's what I'm going to try. I'm going to ask my tailor to do a slight angled hem. That's not a new concept, but I haven't brought myself to ask for it. The straighter pants give me fits because I'll get a huge amount of break or "puddling" at the front ankle, like elephant ankles, and still the hem won't be that long in back.
I even have this problem with wider legs and bootcuts. It is very hard to get anything close to the ground-sweeping length of Angie's PPL--maybe my feet are big, or not wearing a high enough heel to get the forefoot angle to shrink the "footprint". So the pants I've hemmed quite long are still puddly and not always giving the long legline intended from the length.

Thanks Angie, no hemming. I love all the scrunch in the styled BR shot but the pants don't look as great on me as they do on the model & she is wearing flats too! I will get only one pair in the smaller size & see how much I wear them. Now I need to decide which colour to keep - toffee, light grey (as pictured) or darker grey as the BR model wore not the grey dot ones Angie has, which is between the light & dark grey in colour. It will be available in store or in a couple of days online. I do have heather grey sloans & a couple of false grey (black & white houndstooth & another black & white).
