Angie & Others : PPL Help Please

Hi Ladies,

I need need to hem these white straight leg jeans I bought just before the cold weather hit. I won't get to wear them until Spring, but I would like to have them ready.

These are only pinned at the moment and the excess fabric is making them look a but heavy at the hem.

I would like to wear them with flats (or at least small heel) and with heels. I know Shannon asked the same thing a few weeks back and I did post something from Angie's blog outlining correct length for straight legs. Have re-read the guidelines but think I need some feedback.

BTW I know that they are a bit crinkly particularly on the uppper leg but I will only be wearing tunics and long tops with them.

Does this look right?

#1 & #2 are with flatish shoe 1/2 inch heel.

#3/4/5 with a heel

Oh no I would love to help you but I am a terrible PPL rule breaker so for what it is worth I think 1/2 is the correct PPL but to me 3/4/5 still look ok.

I don't do ppl well yet but they look good to me! Some people angle them so they are slightly longer at the back I think.

I finally decided with mine Deborah that I had to pick a heel height (a particular shoe) that I would wear these with and hem them to that length. I'm not sure there really is a hem height that accommodates both flats and a heel. Mine will be worn with a 2 inch heel.

I'm afraid these look too short with your heels but great with your flats.

I wonder if these could take a slightly longer length even for the flats. Half an inch?

Debs, the jeans look fab. My straight legs are narrower through the calf and at the hems so they scrunch a little more. How do you feel about tapering yours a little more?

I vote half an inch longer, too-then, will scrunch a bit lover on your anckle with flats, and will be better with the heels.(can you post a pictie like that?
(+what if they will shrunk a bit by washing?...)

I also vote for the longer length. Here are a couple of pictures of how I hem mine.

Julie, those are flared legs. Straight legs can't be hemmed in the same way because they taper up against the ankle.

I also like to wear my flares as long as you do
