Sorry for being in and out. And clearly my comments are out of order. That's what happens when super bowl meal prep and game festivities get me all out of whack!
rabbit: Thanks for your post and showcasing how different media choose to cover fashion/politics -- I am interested in media, but I think I'm in the minority of not carrying too much for fashion. This question is really for me to understand the relationship between people and political content -- I want to see that discussion. You're okay with fashion/political discussion being on Off Topic. Would you indulge me -- why does that feel like the right place in your mind?
Angie: Yes, moderation and your the focus of your brand should be at the heart of your decision making. In wanting to see people's relationship with media -- I still hope people with share their views and exchange thoughts on this. I hope they could suspend reality and honestly reply as if all options were open. Yes, art forms and politics -- this is all true. I'm interested in the recent political environment with regard to minorities and majorities and media. The depth of that study on a site where conservatives are perhaps the minority within a community that aims to welcome, where liberals with a wide range of views are perhaps the majority-- and that majority might have a louder voice than minorities. And then the relationship between minority and majority in this context. This is juicy. Most of my colleagues who are interested (or are also in the business of behavioral studies) see growing complexities within the areas of minorities and majorities and media. The web is a playground of study. Frankly, I might even visit Off Topic for this very reason. I have some other areas of interest where this may be of value -- probably shared by the typical lurker on this site -- how people relate to one another. Presenting people with extreme circumstances (and some people on this site believe we are living in extreme times -- and I mean extreme) magnifies the human condition. I've been involved in television deprivation studies -- oh my, what those magnify... This thread might not deliver any insight for the YLF brand regarding political content -- you know what place it has on your site. But a big thanks for responding. And for god sakes listening, this is long and has been long. Given my earlier emails -- expressing me deep appreciation for the current challenges with moderation -- you probably thought "and now this lady wants to put more of a burden on me?" -- not at all I just wanted to see if there would be any discussion on this and what I could learn from it.
Aziraphale: Thanks for sharing. And see above my responses, I may be seeing you on Off Topic. But I might only be lurking.
Galena: Thank you for commenting and raising your perspective on American and Non-American integration of values and fashion -- and the role of political content on this site. You might have seen this coming if you read my above responses -- but could you expand on this? Please? I have every confidence you can do it in a way that doesn't offend.
Ledonna N.: Laughed out loud when you mentioned the Kardashian Clan. See above my interests (in responses to others and my posts) and why I posted these questions. Gotta ask, do you have any thoughts?
Barbara Diane: First, thank you. Thank you. See above -- I'm asking more questions. Any comments on how you see political content taking shape on this forum. It's going to stay in Off Topic. But I'm more interested in understanding views of any kind as it relates to peoples' relationship with political content on the site.
rachylou: What!! "I'm the dump one in the family." Really?? And trauma and the genetic make-up of future generations -- I've only seen that in reports related to starvation and nutrition. Hmm. I'm watching you. On another note, I appreciate your perspective on the volume of political content. And when you say, my interest is not unstirred. In the hypothetical -- how would communicate whatever part of you might want a section on Politics and Fashion, The World and Fashion -- more political discussion. Or perhaps you think less political content is better for the site. You're laying down some political content here. Talk to me girl.
