Dear Fabbers,
This is what I am wearing today to work and I also added two outfits from the last weekend.

To give you some context, I am an attorney working with business law. I am senior in my firm and relatively free to dress within my authentic style, of course depending on a particular day (whether there are client meetings, who I am meeting, the season etc.) With that said, I have never fully conformed to the strict corporate environment, and during the years it has worked to both my advantage and disadvantage. I have always dressed a bit differently from my colleagues, but still within what was considered appropriate. Some liked it, others did not. During the years, the firms have become more casual and a bit more diverse, I experience a rather clear shift there too.

An outfit which I consider as truly “me” is a rather dressy outfit, dramatic, structured, which contains some classic elements. It is not particularly modern or trendy. To make me happy, it should be a bit playful, with retro references, some nostalgia from the times that have passed. Also some juxtaposition. I don’t want my outfits to take themselves too seriously. “My” outfit should also be practical for my lifestyle - my shoes are often flat or medium chunky heels, rubber soles, patent or semi patent surface - low maintenance, durable and very comfartable.

I am a restless and impatient dresser, get bored easily and crave variation. I achieve that through a large accessory wardrobe and I use many different colours. This is why a tight capsular wardrobe would not work for me. My formula and silhouettes, on the other hand, are rather uniform.

No 1-3 Monday outfit. Windowpane black blazer over a black silk shirt, silvery leather trousers, classic silk scarf, semi-patent Chelsea boots, black bag and a deer brooch made of small crystals. This is a very comfartable look for me, I feel good and authentic to my style.

No 4-5, Saturday outfit. My attempt to do Angie’s skirted moto formula. Pencil skirt, patent loafers, rust moto, different scarves and a vintage handbag.

No 6-8 Sunday outfit. Red and berry colour blocked coat with a large floral scarf, black trousers, grey boots, black bag. This is my typical more casual outfit. Yet structured and dramatic.

Thank you for your patience reading this long post. I would love to know what you think and if my own impression of my style corresponds with how you, guys, perceive it.
