And then I did this....

I tried and returned a blue dress because it didn’t have a high happiness factor....
and then I order this tulle skirt (one of the few top picks I don’t remember seeing any one in). I have a thing for tulle skirts. And I have a thing for navy. But I don’t wear skirts anymore. So when this skirt made its appearance on Angie’s list, I collected it, but never seriously thought about ordering it. And the after I realized that the dress wasn’t going to make my heart sing...I ordered the skirt.
Am I crazy? Need honest and open thoughts. Do these styling ideas work?

Also should have added....this skirt is incredibly well made...there are 4 layers under the tulle. And the tulle itself is soft and not scratchy like some cheaply made skirts are

for those playing along at home, i just want to add how impressed i am with the quailty of this skirt and the knit dress i did not keep, which as also Nordie's house brand 1901....very well made for very resonable prices....just wish that they were carrying it in my local store....

I think that the skirt looks fab. I especially like it with a scoop or vneck and/or a pointy toe shoe. I think that those things help balance the volume. I’m curious to see it with less neutral tops or toppers. I’m thinking it’s a versatile color and style for nearly any colored pullover.

hmmmm....3style you are assumming that i have less neutral tops...the top in #2 & 3 is about as not neutral as i get....but i get your point...i will continue to experiment...

I passed right by the skirts because I don’t need anymore so I missed this one. That is a gorgeous skirt! And it looks fab on you. I can’t really tell the difference between the lengths from the angle so I think the longer one would be better. You have shown it’s styling versatility so it’s a keep.

I like the petite version best, though maybe its the shoes making the difference! Dark shoes just seem more balanced to me with it.

Aw, I love it too! Especially with the jean jacket - I bet it would be good with blue denim also. And I like it with the plain white v-neck tee. My impulse with tulle is to contrast it with casual items, but it also looks great dressed up in the other photos.

I honestly can't tell the difference between petite and regular.

Well, I was taking a bit of a shortcut in my response. If the butterfly top is as non neutral as you tend to go with your tops and toppers, then I definitely think that you have a good opening in your wardrobe for a what I think Angie would call a “completer” skirt. It gives your outfits a totally different vibe from more common bottom garment options but isn’t so bold as to be a statement.

I love the skirt on you and the way you styled it with the denim jacket, also w the AGL mules, the hoodie with dots, nice job! Now I want the skirt too but will refrain from doing that as I don’t think I would wear it to work (because of the narrow bathroom stalls I favor pants or pencil skirts) although it would be a gorgeous festive skirt for me if it fit.
