Well, I just discovered the best way to shop. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Called the Toronto store to see if a few things I'm interested in are available in Canada. Most of the clothes/shoes are not, but she offered to go and take photos of anything that was close to what I was looking for (the blue Aquatalia boots) so I knew I was getting a good SA. By the time she texted me the photos, I'd remembered a couple of other things I was curious about, some on sale and some not. So I got the scoop on them via text.

What a great way to shop... text someone a code and they come back with a yay or nay and a price. Then we agree on a time to talk, and I give her my info and it's done. I always found even getting time at home to make those phone calls difficult. Or rather, I always got distracted.

I told her she'd be hearing from me in the future...

Anyway, now winging it's way to me...

1. I had always felt sad at missing the fringe scarf last year, so think this is a good replacement. Thanks to Kathie for pointing it out! The SA said it was lovely, and wants one herself now

2. the Longchamps bag, a total splurge. Would never pay full price for it, but had started wanting one after reading rave reviews here last year (or was it the year before?) And believe it or not, the Canadian sale price is even better than the US one!

3. and the silver shawl, not on sale, but had put it in my basket when Joy posted it ages ago.

And now to sit back and wait for the US sale to be opened up to me... At this point I'm interested in the EF sweater and Diana jeans. If the duties etc aren't too bad.

Thanks Kathie. Funny how this type of shopping goes, isn't it. I love sitting back and seeing what people are ordering. The SA said it was beautiful. I like how the tassels are just in the corner, so you don't get the bulk around the neck.

Elizabeth - just putting in a good word for the Longchamps leather bag. It was on my wish list and last year I bought it. Like you I would never have bought at full price but at the sale price it's a fantastic splurge. I do have the nylon, which I love, but when you need something more refined it's really wonderful to have. I can't imagine you'd ever regret it. Really nice bag!!

Gryffin, you are the main reason I've been eyeing this. I remember how highly you spoke of it last year. I'm glad to hear you still love it! I also have a nylon small one, which is the BEST purse for the summer, and for watching kids sporting events outside... it feels so perfectly casual. I also have a nylon one this size that I got for a great deal from Costco. So I know I like them, and am looking forward to a more "refined" version.

Oh - this year's T&B scarf is far nicer than last year's, which I too bought and wore a grand total of once. Anyone want it? Love the Le Pilage too, and I've coveted one for years but always found them too spendy for what I use it for. Great scores!

Kerry... Eaton Center. I have generally called the Ottawa store first just because it was the first, and the one I go to the most (annual meetings in Ottawa), but I find the selection there is getting less and less, so figured there was a better chance of finding actual items in the TO store.

Yah, I didn't see the suede Aquatalia sock booties at the Ottawa store, in any colour.

lisa P- last year, it was the Hinge scarf that was a heavier silk. I didn't get it, because the print wasn't quite right for me, and I didn't want so many tassels, but somewhat regretted the decision. This year, I was thrilled to see that the Treasure & Bond was a similar heavier silk, interesting pattern, and tassels just on the corners.

My T&B is the one Angie bought - not silk. Burgundy print .

Yes, last year I shopped in person at the Yorkdale store - they had quite a few NAS items. This year I’m going to try Sherway (it’s closer - wasn’t open last year at NAS time) but of the wishlist I sent the manager only 7 out of 30 items are available.
