And a second question about jeans

On the topic of jeans, here are the ones I'm considering adding to my fall wardrobe:

They tick a lot of boxes:

- a wash/colour I like
- very comfy
- slim boyfriend shape
- nice heavy denim; not much stretch
- no distressing
- a good fit (although they look way different on me than on that model. The rise is low on her -- it says she is 5'10" -- but they're mid-rise on me, and even cuffed they are full-length!)
- look good with flat shoes

What do y'all think? Are they "current" enough? They don't have a higher rise, but that helps make them fit me better. I have to say that I'm loving the sudden availability of slim boyfriend fits. They have all the practicality of skinnies, but are more comfortable and also more flattering.

Are they current enough? They are one of the trendiest jeans cuts at the moment, possibly the trendiest! And these were Angie's pick, perhaps in a different wash, perhaps the same. Either way, go and enjoy them! Looking forward to the photos!

I always say if they are being sold in stores NOW, then you can count on the fact they are "current"

I bought these last weekend, after coveting them for six months. They were an Angie's pick in the golden wash, but I didn't like the fading on the bum. I went with the same wash you linked to, and I love them. I actually sized down from my usual bf sizing, I have plenty of generous sized bf's, and DH was in the change room with me resting his tired feet and liked the look of the slimmer bf. I would never have sized down before but after wearing them this week I absolutely love them, the slimmer bf feels more current. I think they'll be good going into fall with fluid/oversized sweaters.

I have these jeans in the Bradford wash -- they're an Angie pick! They're full length on me, also, with a cuff, even. They're a great jean. Easy to wear different ways.

They're totally current. I am thinking of trying these too. The golden wash (faded seat and upper thighs -- like a spotlight on my widest part) did horrible things for my rear view. The back pockets are wide set, but I'm wondering if that might not be so bad without that darned fading.

Yaaaay! Crackers and Suz, glad to hear you like yours so much. Thanks for weighing in. It was the Bradford wash I brought home with me yesterday. I really like it. It has enough fading to look used and casual, but not too much. No weird pale patch on the butt. I also like that the blue is not too blue -- it's more of a neutral. I haven't cut off the tags yet, but I modelled them for my husband and got the thumbs up.

Tanya, glad to hear you think they are current! Most other boyfriends I've been seeing have a lot of distressing, and a higher rise. But I like these more. (Although I did buy a lightly distressed pair of grey boyfriend jeans in the spring, and I wear them an awful lot). I didn't know they were an Angie pick. My participation on YLF has been patchy this summer -- we're just not home much.

karymk, it's true that they are being sold in stores now. But there are always a few examples of just about every cut, and not all of them represent the spirit of the moment, so to speak. For example, bootcuts are always available and never truly go out of style, but at the moment they do not feel current to me. I feel like I've "been there, done that" with bootcuts. Does that make sense?

Janet, I like the back pockets on the Bradford wash. I think this pair would work really well for you. And they would probably actually be crops on you -- you could wear them with ankle boots, like the model.
