So it's been just over two months since I started back in the full time working world. I'm loving my work environment. The offices and infrastructure are great, the people are generally a good bunch, my commute takes me all of about three minutes from my garage to the office door... So it was a good move. I miss the doula world,
In an interesting turn of events, my line manager has just resigned. When I mentioned this to a few people, the response was am I going to apply for her job? Although the thought fleetingly crossed my mind when they announced her resignation and posted the internal ad for her position, I instantly dismissed it due to my short period of time with the company. Having said that though, of my team, I am probably one of the most qualified to apply. Three of my colleagues approached me separately and suggested that I apply. I then mentioned it to my manager and asked if there was any point in my application and she said yes, I absolutely should.
So that is what I have done. I'm sure there will be a couple of internal and external applicants and there may well be some that are better qualified than me so I don't want to get my hopes too high... And of course the decision doesn't lie with those who have suggested me for the job. Whether the executive team feel i am capable is a different story.
Anyways, applications close on Monday and then the interview process will start. All good vibes will be much appreciated!!!!
