Una's fab-in-a-snowstorm outfit notwithstanding, I'm too wimpy to head outside and slide down our steep, curvy driveway now that we have our first snow of the year. (I'm not living in Seattle proper like Angie-I'm to the east of the city and snow has been coming down hard all day!) So despite my posts about style evolution, I've actually been holed up in cozy loungewear with B. since yesterday morning, sipping tea, reading YLF and my mom's old Oprah magazines, and watching Firefly. Sometimes un-fab clothing is justified, right?

So pretty! I live in Los Angeles and haven't seen snow in about seven years. I know it's a pain to deal with IRL, but your day sounds lovely.

It's been a rarity here too this year. The real pain is when the roads are a mess. I actually can walk to work if needed but won't if the sidewalks and roads are icy. (even by bus the most iffy part of getting there would be on foot.) it is absolutely beautiful, though-full, fluffy flakes.

Gorgeous. I love the look of snow, just not the hassle of dealing with it (or rather dealing with people who don't know how to deal with it as is the case in Northern VA unlike in CT where I grew up)
Your day sounds fab and loungewear is the best for that kind of day. Enjoy, stay warm and safe.

Haha! Many of us in the Seattle area, myself included, don't know how to deal with snow. I have driven in the snow perhaps 5 times in my life and don't really trust my snow driving skill level, and I really don't trust other drivers around here based on some of the really stupid decisions I've seen people make in snow.

Beautiful fluffy snow. I live in WI and we deal with a lot of snow, although this winter has been abnormally snowless until a week ago. For slippery sidewalks I find yaktrax a life-saver. The are a rubber/spring contraption that goes over the sole of the boots. Even though my snow boots have good traction, I still don't trust my balance -- but with yaktrax I can walk on bare ice without a second thought. Check them out if the snow sticks around for a while.

That definitely sounds like it would be a good idea if I lived in a place that had snow more often! For now my rain boots have enough traction to keep my footing in slush and snow, but I'll have to see if the slush on sidewalks melts enough tonight to be safe tomorrow. I definitely don't plan to drive at this point. B. and I are out and about grabbing a bite and watching a movie- very glad to have those amenities in walking distance!

We were out with friends for the whole day and it was such fun! Such a beautiful Winter Wonderland! 20 eyelet Docs and fleece tights were the order of the day.

Off to watch the Golden Globes!

Wow. Even east of Seattle...you have snow and Boston hasn't had any real snowfall at all this winter? (Not that I'm complaining, but it's weird.)

Though nothing is nicer than lounging around on a cozy Sunday, with fresh snow outside your window--particularly when it's early in the season and you're not yet fed up with it!

Mochi, that is unusual! But this is our first snow of the year - usually we have at least one day with a slight dusting in November or December. Fortunately our snow is usually gone within a day or so, not long enough to really get sick of it.

Hopefully this is the last that we'll see in the cities. I think it's gorgeous but I'd rather have it stick to the mountains instead!

We also had a snowfall a night before. I love how snow transforms the lifeless winter landscape and makes it magical. I wish I did not have to work all this weekend and could do some cross country skiing with my hubby <sob>
We live in a snow belt area and usually have lots of snow from Great Lakes but this winter was pretty greedy with snow so far!

Ah, enjoy from the comfort of your couch! Having been snow free for so long now, I hope I remember how to commute in feet deep drifts of white outs again!
