Welcome crackers!! You are so inspirational! That is one thing I come here for ......... my daily dose of inspiration from women I have never met and yet somehow influence my life in so many little and big ways! Thank you!
A big welcome, and there is no need at all to apologize! I'm glad you came out of lurkdom, and that you are making progress. My mom got excellent care and went quickly into therapy after a stroke some years back and recovered beautifully, so I am always amazed at the brain and what it is capable of doing. I hope you have continued success! This is a beautiful community and I think you'll be glad you joined.
Crackers, I feel deeply humbled by the effort you made to write your post. As a forum member I feel honoured you've made all that effort - but if anyone deserves it, this group of women does. Thank you so much and welcome. I look forward to your participation, in whichever form is best for you.
Thank you Angie, and everyone. I'm a bit blown away by the warmth and openness of you all, and the support. My reasons for disclosing on a fashion site were twofold, first because I feel like I know so many of you through your posts so it only seemed fair, and secondly because tbi affects so many more people than you can imagine but often remains invisible. So thank you for such a warm welcome and the pm's!
Late here, but welcome aboard! thank you for sharing with us. I guess we don't realize that for years others can be following us and come to 'know' us in a sense, so it was quite lovely of you to share back upon joining in.
Rachylou, not so innocent here, I never miss one of your posts! You have the best sense of humor and writing style, your posts are the best! (Sorry if that's a creepy lurker comment!)
Hi Crackers, I just wanted to say welcome and that I hope to see much more of you. I rekindled with YLF as I was recovering from a serious health condition. Coming here to chat helped me tremendously. I became a recluse but these girls got me out of shell. Welcome to the YLF Fam!
And peacechick, I want to welcome you too but I can't find the thread
Crackers, heartfelt (public) thanks for your courage in coming out about your TBI. You phrase it so perfectly: "That's the worst part at this point, the effort things take doesn't show." Well-meaning reassurances, especially from people who work in the field, can feel like a kick in the teeth and keep me from mentioning it much. Your way of handling that information inspires me.
Welcome Crackers--- I am so glad to have you here. The ladies (and some gentlemen) here at YLF are lovely. I've been here for a little over 3 years, and everyone has been very patient with my slow fashion journey. I first came to YLF after a major illness had clipped a budding career and I was trying to figure out what to do with myself. I hadn't been shopping because I thought that I would need overhaul my "student" wardrobe for a "working" wardrobe, and that has become a 3-year journey because of my medical issues. I recently announced that I am finally starting a steady full-time job December 11th and have just started working part-time with the same company while finishing up a semester-long grad program. I'm very excited to have more cash and more purpose to put towards my wardrobe and share with YLF after their longsuffering patience with me.
Thank you everyone for such kind welcomes! It's one thing to see the support and encouragement in this forum from afar, it's another thing altogether when it's directed at you. It's quite amazing. Thank you!
