This is my first substantial post. I don't tend to be a huge conversationalist on boards, and even in real life, but I thought I should pop in and make myself known.
I have decided to quit being Frump Woman. I am 48 and have never taken too much interest in fashion. Over the last 7 years or so, I have lost almost 100 pounds. I finally feel I look presentable in clothes and I want to present better. Due to a recent size change, I had to get rid of most of my, very small - roughly 20 piece, wardrobe. So I am starting from scratch.
I don't have a fully fleshed out style, but I am fairly tomboyish. I like a slight edge or whimsy to my outfits. I work in law, so my work pieces need to be a bit more on the classic side, but I want to let a little of that edge show through.
I live in San Diego, so I don't need a lot of warm clothing. I recently bought two pair of boots, which I love so much I want to sleep with -Sam Eddelman Penny, and Frye Vera. I need lots of stuff to wear them with. I have a problem though, I hate shopping.
So, I need a lot help. Already this forum has helped me to narrow down some elements of my style. Two weeks ago I wouldn't have known I had a style, let alone that it is "tomboyish, edgy and sometimes whimsical!
Thanks for listening, and I will be around, soaking it in. Here is a pic of me, to give you some idea of my body type. I think I am somewhat hourglass, with rectangle aspects, but I am not really sure. My coloring is autumnsy.
Please forgive any typos, I am the typo queen.
