I'm sorry Julie, but again here is an example of women who are not truly plus size. Sure they're larger than the average model, have curves, and we can't see protruding bones, but those models look nothing like me, nor the real plus size women I see on the streets everyday.

I had the same thought as Marianna. I assume these are UK size 14 models which is what a size 10 US? Definitely not a true plus size. I guess non-traditional compared to the emaciated, glorified coat hangers that walk the run ways though. I've read speculation that this was a publicity stunt by a struggling designer but in any case, it's a start! Nice coats BTW!

I assume that's a UK size 14- which is what? a US 10? Plus sizes don't even go down that small in the US. It just seems that in the last year or two, this size range has become gimmicky. It's getting a lot of press right now, so people are more apt to use that size of models.

Sorry ladies, just to clarify Evans is a high street brand selling clothes from a UK 14 - UK 32. I also believe the smaller models from the ad campaign are a UK 14.

I do not believe a size 14 is plus sized but I do believe these ladies are very beautiful.

Every year Evans images are gorgeous, they are definitely pioneers of fashion for all figures and have only recently reduced their range to cater to a UK 14.

I do think that the Evan's images are lovely - they always have been, and Julie is right until recently they did start at a UK size 16.

The fact that they are using models at the smaller end of their size range is for the same reasons that any other clothing ranges use as small a model as possible (probably nothing bigger than a UK size 8) - most women think that they are bigger than they actually are and want clothes that make them look smaller (or think that they are smaller). I'm a size 14 and I think that all of these women look smaller than me.

Gorgeous curvy amazons. I love seeing these models - so much more like the Supermodels of old - but they still don't really represent the average woman. I just want to see an ad campaign, a website, a magazine where all kinds of people are represented without it being a big deal. When we finally reach that point, we know we've come a long way.

Still, I wish I could try on the stuff from Evans...

I LOVE Evans. I go there each time I’m in London with my very stylish SIL who is plus sized (UK18 - 20). She loves to shop and I love shopping with her. Those models are beautiful Julie, and I think that our Marianna should model. Seriously. I don’t say things like lightly.

I'm feeling uninspired either way. Sorry to be a sourpuss. Every time this subject comes up it boils down to rail thin vs. plus sized and ignores the entire spectrum of women who fall in between. Also, you have to be the right kind of curvy in order to get any attention--flat tummy, .7 waist-hip ratio, stunningly symmetrical face, small-average bust. It's a nice start, but not nearly enough. My flabby tummy, oversized bust, and petite body have yet to find a suitable role model.

Also "petite" models are usually 5'5-5'7. Why can't models ever represent the size they are meant to cater towards...?
