I think I am going to start selling neon orange bags marked “Caution! For Donation Only!” It seems there is a potentially untapped market!

I get annoyed with myself for essentially buying the same thing over again. I used to inadvertently replicate the same black dress, skirt or pant and then wondering why I had no variety in my wardrobe. I have at least now discovered colour!

Glad you found them!

Last summer, I left an entire summer bin in the basement. I kept looking for my favorite asymetrical linen top, and just couldn't find it.

Finally found it and a bunch of tees I had already duplicated when I went to put my summer stuff away!

I'm so glad you found them. They sound lovely! I realized this winter I have a "thing" for gray sweaters. I can't pass one in the store without stopping to admire it, but I already have a nice collection of them at home.

This thread reminds me of when my younger daughter was very little and fairly consistently rejected the lovely, barely-worn things her older sister passed down. She was so insistent in not wanting to wear them that a couple of times she threw them away! I found most of the items and rescued them from her wastebasket, but I think one or two slipped through.

I have one for you: I've been going over my parents regularly to help clean out the house they have lived in for 20 years, and have been donating all my old clothes and things to charity. Last week I came home and there was a bag from the thrift store - with the pants I had just given away! Turns out my mum had gone to that huge thrift store, find that exact pair of pants, loved them and bought them - bringing them back to the house I had purged them from!

Wow, great stories of clothing gone awol! My memory is of a pair of bowling-shoe-style oxfords I bought in Germany (my only trip overseas ever) in 2003. They were so fabulous! Perfect fit, lovely tan suede and smooth leather, leather soles even. Yummy! After wearing them frequently for a couple of years, one went missing. Sadly I put the other one in the box at the bottom of the stack. A few years later the missing shoe was found in suitcase I was going to give away. Also found in the suitcase was a pocket watch my husband had lost!

I always diligently search pockets of garments and thoroughly check the insides of totes or bags before donating - and I'm glad that was my habit then, too. I don't know if I've worn those shoes since, but they are luxurious and sentimental so still in my closet.

Roxanna that’s hilarious!
