Too much leather. I think this relates to Rae's recent realization as well.

I think a full tweed coat, and lighter shoes, perhaps a dark taupe to bookend the hat. I could really see my Isabel Marant taupe suede Dicker boots. (ohh that gives me an idea to try my Dickers with my leather leggings) Or change the hat to black to bookend the boots, but that may make the look overall too heavy.

Actually I don't like the hat, I think that's the main problem with this outfit. Her style is pretty maximal, so I often feel she needs to remove a few pieces but that's my leanings not necessarily what's right or wrong.

It's a very sombre look for her which I don't like for myself, so that's partly why it's not very appealing to me. I don't mind all the black leather, and the texture of the coat is good, but I'd like to see some pattern - maybe in the hat or bag.

Hmm. Sort of Boho in leather. I think I like all the pieces individually (with the exception of the hat, per Denise's insight). Hard to tell, because the gestalt of the look obscures them.

But yes, as to Rae's insight. I guess the thing about leather is that it easily becomes poser-ish. Why exactly is that girl wearing all that leather? It's a little Paris Hilton on the pig farm.
