Anyone else have one? I got one for Mr Aziraphale last Christmas and he has become a huge fan. Now he's starting to suggest that I need one too. I have to admit that it's pretty awesome when he talks into his wrist like a Star Trek crew member (I'm waiting for when they come up with a device that allows you to merely tap your chest for a com link!). He finds it very useful to get text alerts that he can glance at without pulling out his phone.

I think the one below with the stainless steel case and brown strap looks pretty sharp, but I'm a bit concerned that it might look too preppy for me. What do you think?

I love my Apple watch! I got the rose gold sport edition and changed up the band with a heavy link band that I found on Amazon. Its the last thing I take off at night before bed and the first thing I put on in the morning when I get up--:)

Angela, thanks for the input! I'm glad to hear you like your watch. I'm a strictly leather-strap wearer myself, but I like the chunky look of your one. The combination of masculine-looking hardware and the feminine-looking rose gold is fab.

Rachy, I wouldn't even consider an Apple watch if I thought they were ugly, no matter how useful they might be. I much prefer the shiny metal cases to the sort of frosted aluminum ones. I particularly like how they look with the leather straps. They come in a variety of colours. The clasp is well-designed, too.

I'm hoping one is in my future, but the one I like best is a freakin' fortune. (rose gold face with blush-rose leather band).

Lisa -- yeah my problem too. The stainless steel ones are way more than the aluminum ones. At least I'm not in the market for a metal strap.

(I do see the appeal of the rose gold watch. It makes a masculine-looking accessory look more feminine. It wouldn't work for my style, but I think you need one!)

I looked at these at Christmas time to buy one for dh. Got him the cognac strap and stainless case, much like aziraphale shows in the first picture. For myself, I would have gone with the Hermes, but dh and I agreed it was silly to get that one for +$500 more than the non-Hermes that looked almost the same.

I have the rose gold sport one with a lavender strap (i.e. NOT the crazy expensive one). I like the color because I wear it all the time and it doesn't seem clashy with either silver or gold.

I probably do not know about all its features, but these are the ones I like:

The exercise tracking (also it taps you to remind you to stand up and walk around a little). So far today I have run/walked 3.95 miles, exercised for 83 minutes, and stood up at least once every hour.

The immediate access to texts (this has been very useful for my school carpool driving where schedules change on the fly, or on the drive itself). Also it's good at voice recognition so you can dictate your response texts to it.

You can use it as a remote shutter clicker for your phone, to take WIW of yourself. This will be helpful when you are showing us your new striped pants, if they ever arrive.

Lisa over at amidprivilege.com has some posts on the Apple Watch, from both a style and a tech perspective.

Are you sure about the brown leather band? Weren't you just talking about your brown leather bag kinda ruining your monochromatic pirate-punk look the other day? But no, that particular combo does not read as overly preppy to me.

I dont know how much black you wear but I assume it's a lot based on your beetlejuice pants. I would opt for the red or black band.

La Pedestrienne, that's exactly why I asked about the brown leather strap. I'm by no means goth or steampunk, but I do wear a lot of monochromatic, or at least neutral, outfits. The brown strap would look great with many of them, but might ruin some, and a watch is something I'd wear every day. But I do love the look of the brown strap with shiny watch casing.

Smittie, the red strap is my second favourite option.

I like the brown band. It looks rich. What about changing the band? Could you do that?

JAileen, you know, I hadn't thought of that, but I'm sure the watch straps must be interchangeable. I will find out how easy it is to switch straps. I bet, knowing Apple, that it's super slick.

I'm going to find out about getting TWO straps. Problem solved!

I have an Apple Watch I was lucky enough to win in a work event. I wouldn't have spent for one (I previously was wearing a Zodiac watch I LOVED) but I have enjoyed it, and if something happened to mine I would replace it for sure. I've never added any apps, but I do use the fitness tracker, heart monitor (allegedly Apple Watch has one of the better consumer-grade ones out there), and occasionally track stocks or control music playing on my iPhone (safer/easier when using my phone for music in my car). I also love that texts and phone calls come to my watch -- I used to miss messages a lot because my phone would be buried in my work computer bag.

I got the lower-end sport option with a pink band. I wear it all the time -- for work, exercising, etc.

Note that the rumor mill suggests that the next version of Apple Watch could come out as soon as June. Or it could be September -- Apple does a good job keeping these secrets!

I love all things Apple, and the watch is no exception. I don't have one (yet) but my vote is get both the red and brown straps.

Runs with scissors -- I had heard something similar about a newer version coming out. I wouldn't get one until Christmas anyway, so hopefully they get the upgrade out by then.

Karie, I have become and Apple fan slowly over the past five years. The products are not perfect, but they get a lot of things right. And as an added bonus, they pay a lot of attention to design -- something that's important to me.

I agree on the two straps. I was just looking on Amazon and they have lots of affordable choices for different bands, I'm thinking of getting the least expensive, sport version and collecting other bands.... I like to mix and match!

I've had one since they first came out, but just started wearing it in the last week because of the HRM function. 42cm stainless case, black sport strap. I don't know yet whether I *like* it, but it's very useful for the functions I've learned so far.

If you live near an apple store, it could be worth going to one of their classes.

The Apple iWatch is a pretty trendy tech toy to have. If you aren't sure of what strap goes best with it, there are places like Aliexpress where you can buy a pack of three straps, all in different colours / styles for your iWatch. That way, you can have a strap to match your outfit / hand bag of the day.

Right now I'm more concerned with what the watch is telling me on a regular basis, than how it looks. But band options would be a welcome distraction!

I got an Apple watch in December and have been wearing it constantly since then- I love it! I echo all the useful functions above (texts, phone calls, exercise monitor- I do elliptical at the Y)- I also love the Apple Pay (works without the phone) and the timer and alarm functions (set timer x minutes- very helpful when you are cooking!) Also the watch bands are a cinch to switch out and there are a ton of Apple and 3rd party bands available. I have the Milanese loop which is extremely comfortable.

My husband very thoughtfully got me one for Christmas, and I confess, I haven't worn it much. A couple of problems:

- I have a couple other watches that gel with my style more, which I'm really used to wearing, (two Philip Steins with interchangeable straps), plus a chunky rose gold Michael Kors
- It's very sporty -- black case, black strap, and my style most days is not that sporty
- It needs to be recharged every night, so I need to be in the habit of charging up to three devices on my nightstand every night (iPhone, iPad, and watch). Oh, and about once a week I recharge my Fitbit. With only two existing plugs there, it gets a bit much.

I should really just figure out a logistical solution for the charging thing (not easy, because there's no other good, accessible outlet in our bedroom), and maybe look into another strap for the Apple Watch to make it a bit more fashionable.
