Amy's oxfords (crown vintage) - K/R

Amy posted a wonderful outfit with black and white oxfords: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ns-welcome I noticed that these oxfords have the perfect heel height for my taste (just slightly over 2") so I decided to try them out. DSW did not have black and white in my size and, besides, I already own a pair of black oxfords so I decided to try a lighter color. What do you think? I am not sure I like these with black pants but I was mostly thinking of wearing these with colored denim or dark wash denim.

They are also available in brown/white, which would provide more contrast.

I posted the new shoes side by side with what I have currently - black oxfords and grey clogs. The grey shoes are getting a bit tired-looking so I would like to replace them.

Oh, Makrame, I love them. These are so YOU! (Not that I know you--don't want to seem too presumptuous--but they look so perfect with the styles and colors I've seen you post). I really like them with all of the pants here, including the black--I like the way the lighter toned shoe echoes the lighter gray in the shirt without matching per se. That t-shirt is adorable, btw! What a great replacement shoe for your beloved gray clogs.

Terrific shoes, and terrific with black. The only color combination I'm not completely sold on is the cobalt. Very fun. Very useful.

I've been eyeing those too. I really like the low contrast grey/tan pair (a good neutral shoe for both greys and tans) I also really like the white and brown, but they have a different vibe and command more attention (which is good if that's what you want)

I love them! They look so modern and fresh to me. I know black shoes with black pants is supposed to be the most flattering leg line, but it's starting to look old to me. I like a contrasting shoe like these with dark trousers. Cute with jeans, too!

Those are incredibly cute shoes! I'm glad you included that last pic because it was hard for me to really see what they look like in other pictures!

Yay! I am glad that my thought process in selecting these shoes makes sense to you.

Firecracker, the bookending effect (lighter top, dark pants, lighter shoes) was exactly what I was trying to achieve so I am glad it worked. I love that t-shirt, too - found it last year at Sears by accident when returning something.

BethAnn, I am not sold on these shoes with the cobalt jeans either - maybe black shoes would work better in this case. Jjsloane, the versatility of grey and tan is exactly the reason I picked these out in the first place.

Thanks, shevia, Claire and Meredith! Claire, I agree - black shoes with black pants are beginning to look a bit boring to me. That's why I liked Amy's WIW post so much - she had a fresh and unexpected combination of contrasting shoes with the black dress pants.

I love these--I think they will work so well for spring, but be versatile for colder months too. They might even be cute with bare legs and shorts, or a shorter skirt?
