Amour Vert sizing?

To those who have bought AV — how is their dress sizing? The measurements seem generous, but then when I look at the model sizing, I think there is no way I’m fitting in the size I think would work according to their measurement charts. I’m a size 8 or 10 dress these days, but 10 in more fitted styles through the hips.

I have a modal jumpsuit, two turtlenecks, and a tweed jacket from Amour Vert, all XS. I'd say they're pretty TTS, or a bit generous, at the lower end of the size range. I have been tempted by their silk blouses (amazing prints!) but they look like they might be too long/loose for me.

I go for M in more fitted things and S if something looks really loose. In the T shirt like the dress I linked I got M and like it. Could have gone S but I like the looseness. This seems TTS or slightly generous to me. I think we are similar so I think you would be good with the same decisions. You could always call and ask. I think they have good customer service.

Peri, I think you’re quite a bit smaller and slimmer than I am. I’m 5’7” and 155ish at the moment. Size 8-10 but more 10ish right now. Boobs and hips are the difficult fit for me, plus short torso so many dresses are too long in the top. I’m not sure if AV even has a good cut for my body type — their models are all the typical tall and slim with no curves type, so I’m having trouble evaluating how their stuff would work on me.

Specifically, I love this dress but it’s already sold out in pre-order in a M. In *some* brands I can get away with a S in this kind of style because it’s roomier on the bottom, and appears to have a little room and stretch all around. But it’s hard to tell. I guess I could order it and find out.

Purchased the Petra shirt dress recently. I'm shorter than you are (5'4"), but with body similarities - short torso, busty (Wacoal 32DDD) and usually size 8. The size M was generous - plenty of room in the bust and a bit too much gather in the hips for me although the hips probably would have been ok if my torso were a bit longer.

Thanks, BrieN, that is helpful! It appears we are very a similar size, height notwithstanding. I joke that I have the leg length of someone 5’9” and the torso of a petite, but I’m not far off. I frequently have shoulders of sleeveless garments taken up to shorten the top. Doesn’t work with sleeves though, sadly.

I have a couple of Amour Vert tops that I love. But I had to go up a size to get the perfect fit.

I hope the dress works out! If it turns out you need M, keep checking... sometimes they restock. I wanted another top that was marked sold out, and a week later they had more.

I am 5'4.5" and currently 130 thanks to not being able to eat anything but smoothies for a week. Still, I'm often a 10 so I still think we are close. My shoulders, bust and apple belly take up room that my hips don't take up, so it all evens out.

Thanks, all. I guess I’m out of luck on that patterned dress, unless they get returns of the M at a later date. And now I’m worried a M might be small. Ugh. This is why I am not a huge fan of online shopping with new-to-me retailers, especially when in-store returns are not an option.
