Love hearing about everyone's plans and planned outfits!

We invited couple of friends over to our place , so i decided to wear a dress once in a blue moon. Ordered myself a short black one, hopes it looks on me as great as on the pictures online.

We will be hosting DDS2 and family plus Gary the Greyhound who has a weakness for unwatched loaves of bread. I need to go shopping for ingrediences as some are not available at all this year. We will be having both a small turkey for the traditionalists and buttermilk chicken too, cranberry and orange relish, pototoes, gravy, stuffing, pumpkin pie and bread a veggie salad or side dish, wine and water. I think DDIL is making another veggie dish. Appetizers will mostly be cheeses and crackers and spiced pecans, pumpkin dip and apple slices.

I plan to wear a velvet long burgundy skirt, flats and velvet jacket over a satin shell, flat ballet slippers and a large apron. The kids still have an on going kitchen remodel and hope to be able to host Christmas. Our neighbors will be traveling and hunting.

Ha - Joy, our interior designer is also in a kitchen remodel and hoping to be in business for Dec. 25. "All I want for Christmas..." I can picture your outfit, so elegant!

April, so yes on the difficulty of pleasing everyone. I just ran into that when inviting new neighbors over for light lunch, no cheese, no fish, no no no….so, its a buffet! Something will work!
We are very casual, and far from family, so no large hosting. When we travel to see family, we take them out to a nice restaurant of their choice.
I have a couple of long button down shirt dresses and matching swishy pants from a Lemieux collection for Uniqlo, that travel well and with a t or turtleneck and jewelry, look like I cared to step it up a bit. I reserve a couple of deeply cushy and thrifted velvet tunics for the season, also. Been looking for a maxi skirt that goes with velvet for a while. Pleated?
Thinking of making us a large chicken pot pie and a chocolate cake. And a stew for the drop ins.

Thank you, April. The kitchen remodel started in June. They had hoped to be done by now but some items are slow shipping like cabinet doors and furniture.

I hear you, Joy. We just finished a remodel (of an out-building, thank goodness) that was supposed to be completed in October 2021.

Supply chains are still in terrible shape, tradespeople are hard to pin down, and materials have gotten crazy expensive.

Your kids are fortunate that you'll be feeding them this time!
