I saw this too.

It's sooooo sad, and unfortunately only the start of it all. There will be massive layoffs in retail.

Boo Hiss. Altho I see that the Amazon employee broke a quarantine with pay and endangered his co-workers, as he’d been exposed to someone with covid-19.

I read about this. I have never bought anything from Everlane because I find online shopping so difficult. I won't be doing it now. I wonder if they will survive.

I was considering purchasing something from Everlane in the future, but that's a "no go" now. I agree with Catherine about the union busting. Really egregious action by Everlane.

Huh. Somehow Amazon surprises me far less than Everlane.

Layoffs are happening all over (not at Amazon) but targeting unionizers?

I have never liked everlane. Too normcore for me and my RATE style. As for Amazon, I only order from them when I desperately need something in 2 days, but I always check target first because my redcard gets me free 2 day shipping.

Union busting is so not cool.

I have a feeling there are lots of busted unionization efforts we never even hear about because the brand doesn't have a high enough profile or the organizers don't have the right combination of media savvy, connections, and luck to make it into the national news cycle. There are very, very few sources for union-produced goods.

A big question I have is, what would an ethical lay-off look like? Is it possible? The unemployment numbers right now are mind-blowing. We're going to be picking up the pieces for a long time.
