am i crazy?

i've been lusting over these bags for about 5 years. i know, i know...they are embarrassingly expensive, but they make my heart race. if you were to pick one for a 5'3" with a small to mediumish frame, which one would you pick? should i fuggitaboudit and find something else?

my uncertainties are abt size, scale and color. and obv price!

Those are fabulous bags! I've voting for the light blue, the third one. The others seem too large for a 5'3" small to mediumish frame. I'm similar size and those would be too big except when huge bags are in style. I'm also in love that blue color that looks like it will go with everything year round.

I am barley 5'4 and a very narrow, small frame..I say go big or go home!!!

These are all classic and fabulous bags that will last you for life. The brown is probably the most versatile as it would go with many outfits. But I'm loving the red and blue one too!

I would get the smaller blue one, because it fits you best.

However, Hermes bags (real ones) do not go on sale. So if I were you and you were going to drop that much money I'd get myself to a real Hermes boutique!

Size-wise I would say the blue or red one. You say you have a small to medium-ish frame, so I picture my mother who is 5'4" with a similar frame. The large one is a very strong statement. Brown is certainly the most versatile color, but I think the blue and the red are lovely and still very versatile. I think they can both work as neutrals, actually.

I like the red one best, but I wouldn't even consider buying a bag that expensive. And I would always want to try a bag on live and see how my belongings fit in it, before buying.

In the alternate universe in which I would consider dropping that much dough on a bag, I would only buy from Hermes directly. No way would I pay thousands to a secondary seller online.

On the merits of your question, I prefer the color of the first bag but think it's too big for little you. When huge bags go out of fashion it will look odd. The blue one is a great size.

First of all, as a serious purchaser, I would go direct to an Hermes boutique and enjoy the whole shopping experience in person. That includes fondling every bag and scarf I could get my grimy little hands on, until security is about to haul me away.

Next, I would go big or go home with Taylor. And I would go golden brown or red, depending on my wardrobe.

So, what's the verdict?

I agree with the idea to shop in person for such an investment piece! For one thing, you can really get a true sense of not only the size but also the weight of a larger bag. Also, I'm betting the colors are different in person than in these photos, and it looks like each one has a different feel and texture to the leather -- all things I'd rather check out in person when we're talking about this kind of money.

A lot of the color/style decision really comes down to each individual's personal preferences, and what works best for our style and wardrobe. That said, I like the style and color of the first two better than the blue one (even though I love blue), but the size seems a bit large for an everyday bag even for me, and I'm 5'7".

you all are so sweet. thanks for all the warnings abt buying off the internet. this reseller has a bm store in bev hills that i plan to visit in dec to fondle the bag.

i've shopped the hermes stores. i do love seeing the range of colors and talking to the staff abt the relative merit of the different leathers. to buy the equivalent bag new would be at least 3x as much.

i'm leaning toward the red, the brown as a close second. i don't think that shade of blue will have the same longevity was the red and brown. plus, i wear a lot of black, the blue doesn't seem a rich enough counterpoint.

Love the first one! My favorite bag ever!
My advice is, of course, shop in person (so good to enter a store like that and receive a lot of attention)!
I love the colors your choosed but they are light and the bag will get dirty and somethings are almost impossible to clean. Believe I bought a bag with the color of the first one (not so expensive, but 300€ was a lot for me), it's dirty on the sides (dark denin is terrible) and on the handle and it bothers me.
If you wannt go get a bag for a lifetime, go for a darker color.
