Alterations for leather?

I would like to get this leather jacket, but I am only 5'1" ...are alterations for leather possible? If yes, is it more expensive than regular coat alterations? ( I am thinking I will probably need to have the sleeves shortened if I get this)

Yes, they are possible and as a 5'1' I always have to hem the sleeves. Here the stores do all alterarions for free, so I don't know the price.

I'm sure Shannon could relate how it's worked for her. I'd assume it's more expensive (and permanent!) but definitely the sleeves are doable.

I think seamstresses will charge a little extra for working with leather (not sure; I haven't done it before). They will definitely charge more for a more complex job.

You're on the right track, though -- get it to fit in the hard-to-alter areas (eg, shoulders) and get the easy-to-alter areas fixed (eg, sleeves). This particular jacket doesn't look too bad since the leather edges are unfinished. About the only thing that looks hard is that the knit panels on the sleeves are finished, so they'd have to give themselves a little extra room for that segment.
