Almost lipstick and definitely lipstick ... I might have a problem??

Went through my lipstick collection today to see what I've got. I'm not sure what magic I think lipstick will do but I keep buying it haha ... It's my favourite guilty pleasure!

I think there's about 15? Note I just did a bit edit recently so this is pared down. I basically have 3 colors ... Nude-pink, mauve and berry ... But obviously need multiple shades of each one ...

1. My real lipsticks
2. My nearly lipsticks
3. A nearly lipstick I found in my purse after taking the photos lol

Ha! I have WAY too many lipsticks in my cabinet, but for some reason I have trouble parting with them, even when I know the shade is wrong. I'm not going to wake up one day and suddenly look better in an unflattering shade of red. I must have as many shades of brownish deep red and mauve (the red version of taupe!) - the colours that look best on me - as there are, and yet I still keep those crimson red mistakes!

I too have a lipstick problem . Among the many other problems I have , documented here on the forum I love experimenting and trying new brands . I’ve been whittling my collection down slowly and not purchasing much this year though . I want to be that woman who has 3 lipsticks and one lip balm , lol. I’m such a sucker for packaging and makeup artistry though .

Lipstick is the only actual makeup I still use, I think it kinda does have magical powers, but I’m actually down to only 1 MAC lipstick and 1 Chubby stick tinted lip balm. I guess that makes me a makeup minimalist.

My thing is blush, but even so, I consider 15 lipsticks to be not many at all!

I kind of think this is the makeup equivalent of jeans.

For some women, 15 would be way too many.

For others, 15 would only be the start of their collection and they really truly would wear more if they could afford it, and yes, even with a vast collection, they'd either wear a few pairs out per year and/or wear each pair 30 times before retiring!

Maybe that's a way to think of lipstick. CPW is pretty low, if you wear it.

I have identified three shades I need (a deeper brown/red, a medium pink/mauve and a lighter pink/nude). I made an effort not to buy a new one this summer until one actually finishes. I used to have loads of make up and lipsticks and I realised that any more than these three are duplications. I am really into being more minimalist in all aspects of my life currently. These three shades cover all occasions and seasons too. Same with nail polish.

My thing is eye shadow-probably have about 10. But they're different colors!

With lipstick just red orange and wine + dark red lip gloss + mlbb chubby lip pencil.

I am with Suntiger, my weakness is eyeshadow palettes. But I did a thorough clear out this year, getting rid of anything that wasn’t quite the right shade, was a bit too sparkly, smeared unnecessarily or had snuck some skin irritants into the formulation. I know what irritates my skin in skin care, but had never screened my makeup the same way. I spent a lovely morning on the makeup chemicals database sorting out the latter. I ended up with a very small stack of shadows. I bought a small palette from a greener brand to supply the missing colors. We’ll see how the pared down approach goes.

I love colors and like LJP said- packaging.
I have quite a few lipsticks too, even though I don't wear them often at this point in my life, and I've stopped buying them. I like the colors in your collection and they are similar to mine... I'm tempted to buy a couple of them, lol
A friend once commented "you have a lot of clothes" which I don't think I do, so my immediate thought and response was "compared to whom?" It's all relative and I used to allow comments like that make me feel bad or think I have a problem, but I don't do that anymore. Enjoy your lip colors!

So pretty! There is something so appealing about the elegant gold tubes and cheery pencils. I am a fan of pencils myself, and own half a dozen lip pencils and another half dozen eye pencils. I also have a few near lipsticks, Clinique Black Honey and the like, which you can put on without a mirror. For me, a true lipstick requires a mirror, and yet doesn't last like a pencil, so i only have the ones that came with the GWP.

I hope you have an equally pretty rack for these little treasures!

Nice! Lip colors are not a place where I get adventurous. My lips — ah who am I kidding, really the entire lower half of my face (lines, sagging jawline, thin lips) — are not really where I should be putting the emphasis. I just don’t look great in dark or bright lip colors. I have more eye pencils than lipsticks.

I just got a really good mlbb color — ELF’s Dirty Talk. A nice shade that just gives me a little definition and finish. I think that brings my total to five lipstick colors. I’m still mourning the discontinuation of MAC’s Sophisto. That was my go-to evening shade. I got a near-replacement but I don’t like the formulation.

I am with you on Team Lipstick. I just counted and have 23 in total with 4 almost finished. I wear mine everyday no matter what I am doing and lip balm at night. I much prefer for my lips to feel moist at all times. Your collection looks to be the right size to me!

I have never been much of a lipstick person, I have a hard time getting the right color (they turn weird on me) and generally don't like the feel of them. Plus having to reapply. But give me all the chapstick! That being said, you do need them to be handy so makes sense that you'd have more around.

Helena, I have almost the same number of lipsticks, and I am not a lipstick person! I love eye makeup.
My lipsticks seem to be close to the same colour. There is just a slight variation in the shade.
