Allsaints alternatives?

Does anyone have suggestions for brands similar in style to Allsaints, but perhaps either less expensive or better quality? I wish I could find another line that isn't so confusing with the sizing.

I feel like I'm behind with Allsaints. I didn't even know what it was until I saw the store on Michigan Ave downtown Chicago! Are there quality issues with their stuff? Have you looked at Topshop? I think they have some similar pieces.

Una, it's not a "brand" but a company whose clothes have a similar vibe (to me, at least) is Comrags. http://www.comrags.com/landing/

It might not seem that way from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection, but if you look back over the years you'll see what I mean. Their clothes are sort of funky-urbanite with a feminine/retro twist. And quite often they look better on real people than on the models, so it's a bit tricky to get a real sense of what they are like from the pics.

However, they don't do as much traditional "suiting." Most collections do have several jackets and skirts/trousers that make up a suit, though, and this is more evident in the store.

The prices are comparable to AllSaints full price items, maybe a bit less. The fabrics are always interesting and the quality is excellent.

Good question. I'm glad I'm not the only one with AllSaints sizing problems. Last month I ordered a cardigan that I just love and then found it in a different color, reduced even more. Same style, same size. The first one fit fine, that's why I ordered the second. Although they were supposed to be the same size, the second was much too small and had to go back. I wish they had a B&M close to me.

I would also like some alternatives to All Saints. I can't believe how difficult it has been to find long layers with a crew neck or cowl neck. T-shirts and sweaters.

I think Dorothy Perkins did a line called All Souls or similar.
Religion Clothing (UK) has tees & dresses.
For jackets some Vivienne Westwood on eBay??
