all day hand bag

Hi Angie,
just signed on, love the site.
wanted your recommendation of a hand bag - im a working mom looking for a good looking hand bag i can use for work (small laptop, glasses, etc...) and after work (kids' snacks, tissues, etc,,,)
it needs to be practical (doesnt stain easily) but i'd like it to look good and fashionable.
what do you think?

Not Angie here, but as a fellow mom, I'd think a bag with a shoulder strap will be better. I don't know how old are your kids, but one that you can hang on a stroller if needed, and some pockets on the outside for a sippy etc. Unfortunately, I find the regular bags unpractical as they don't have enough dividers inside and pockets outside and everything gets mixed up together (hate crumbs on my wallet or phone!). I vote a nice handbag for work and a diaper bag that looks like a handbag for after (jj cole studio totes ie).

For me it HAS to be one that I can use both (on hand and on the shoulder), I like an external pocket too, and a neutral color (love camel at the moment).
