Yes, I would like a little bit of his style on the cheap and that I can do housework in... Is this unreasonable? How could this be done?

are you talking Victorian/gothic ruffles, tartan, and corsets McQueen style or fairy magic McQueen style? Or another iteration?

ETA: actually I'm looking at some images now (always a hardship ) and I'm thinking --

tailored feminine shapes -- lots of darts and seams following the contours of the body.

intricate pattern/texture/embroidery -- the look of historical handwork

layers to increase the intensity of surface texture/pattern or to provide corseting effects (waistcoats?)

inspirations are historical or based on flora/fauna rather than the digital age.

I'm thinking if you seriously wanted to do housework though, it would be into frilly apron territory....

Rabbit, I'm thinking this year's Spring McQueen collection, which I think of as sorta Faerie Marie Antoinette... Mean faeries not cute Victorian faeries. Ruffles and gauze. A frilly apron is probably the best place for me to start... Great idea. I'd also like a blouse and close fitting jacket...
