Mac, Theresa, Queen Mum (A fun change, Kim!), Vani, and Carole - Thank you so much for the compliment. <blushing> I learn from each one of your thoughtful posts or outfit pics. I just luv that our forum members have such diverse styles and we can have fun with fashion.
MNsara - I have a WIW thread with my birthday outfit, but I will post the pic here as well as the earrings my daughter got me.
I had a very relaxing and leisurely day yesterday. I awoke to hubby and the kids singing "Happy Birthday" with a candle stuck in a ham and cheese croissant from my favorite bakery. There also was scrambled eggs, bacon and orange juice. YUM!
My kids made me handmade cards and me 6 yr old daughter even bought me cutie owl earrings. We took the day off from homeschooling and the kids spent the day occupying themselves without one argument. (This is quite a feat in itself!)
The boys are starting Fall baseball league and yesterday they had practice for a couple of hours. There was a delicious breeze and I took my daughter to the adjacent playground and she finally mastered the art of swinging. : )
As the sun was setting, I was scanning the ball fields to see how my sons were doing, my daughter was swinging away and she said, "Mom, you look so pretty!" Aww, what a moment that was!
Later we went to my favorite pasta restaurant and I had their smoked chicken with fettuccine noodles in a creamy avocado sauce. Double YUM!
Then we came home and my husband still had a couple of surprises up his sleeve...he had me open a cold box. I thought it was a cake, but it was a scrumptious vegetable pie that one of his co-workers made for us once before that I just loved. I asked for the recipe but the friend said his mother made him swear never to give it away. So hubby said he would pay his friend to make me one for my birthday and I had forgotten. My last gift was my birthday card from my husband and inside was a printed recipe for the vegetable pie!! The friend's mother said it was OK to give it to me. AWESOME!!
So as you can see good food makes me happy!
