Advice on midi dress.

I usually wear maxis but bought this midi for winter. Excuse my pale legs lol. These boots or long boots? Tanned legs or tights? Ideas how to dress it up? Thanks ladies. X

It’s a great length! I first thought I saw ‘tan boots’ and thought ‘oh what a great idea!’ Whoops! But still think it’s a good idea - or an ivory to bookend with your hair

Great as is, I particularly like it with #1 and the scarf. I also like the ideas you suggest as well. I prefer sheer hosiery, so either tan or black sheer tights with your ankle boots. I also think you could wear different coloured boots, such as cognac, red or taupe and with other accessories. If you have long boots, give them a try, they will definitely keep your legs warm in winter.

Very nice! I like both your renditions.

I actually like the booties, because the gap between them and the dress breaks up the black. I am fine with the pale legs (I am pale too). I wear nude micro fishnets when the weather is a bit too cold for bare legs. For truly cold weather, I think Bijou's suggestion of sheer black tights would look good.

Gorgeous dress on you! I really love it with the scarf. It's fab with the booties. You can wear whatever tights you need (sheer nude, dark, or opaque fleece-lined) and either matching booties or contrasting.

I adore this length. It is kind of a mix between lady like and edge. Either a tall or an ankle boot will work. Tall boot would read as more classic I think and and the ankle boot adds edge.

I love how you look. Beautiful dress. For me though, the bare legs look seasonally confused. I would be wearing tights, and sometimes ankle boots sometimes tall boots, to mix it up.

Thanks everyone! Great advice. I'll be on the lookout for some fun tights and I have a big boot collection so lots to choose from. I wear leggings a lot so nice to wear a dress for a change. You're ALL fab! xx

Great dress! Both kind of boots would work well. With long boots, the look would be more interesting if their colour is different from that of the dress. When wearing ankle boots, patterned or non-neutral tights would add interest and fun to the look. (For a cohesive look, you could repeat the non-neutral colour in a scarf, a necklace, a hat or another item in your portrait area.)

I think I'd like booties that fit closer to the leg with it, or textured tights. I use sock booties or tall boots with dresses and skirts in winter. I'd think if you had a tan it would be summer and way too hot for the dress!

That is a great dress. I like the idea of white or light footwear and dress up the dress with a black lace jacket or over layer. a velvet burn out scarf, a metallic silver scarf or black faux fur vest. Micro fishnet stockings or sheer black ones may work well with black footwear.
