I've never had this happen before so I don't know what I should expect.
I have a new cashmere wrap that cost about $138. I wore it to a party and got something on it that I didn't notice that night, so it was dry and kind of crusty. That part is my fault obviously.
But to get it out the dry cleaner (generally viewed as the top notch, elite one around here) must have scrubbed on it, because the patch is now thinned out and fuzzy looking. I complained and left it there for the manager to look at see if something could be done, but I don't see how they could do anything. If they try shaving it, that may take off some of the fuzz, but it isn't like surface pilling so I'm afraid that will thin it out more.
What kind of response is reasonable to expect in this situation? I know they shouldn't owe me the full price...the spill was my fault. But shouldn't they owe me something? It is wearable, but definitely damaged.
What would you do?
