These were recommended by LaPed and I took them out for my daily walk this morning. The walk was a bit over 2 miles on paved road, unpaved road, and in the woods.
The good:
I didn't have the back pain that I get from my traditional big sole trainers!
I felt like I was walking faster than normal, walking naturally, and more balanced than in regular trainers.
It was drizzling, and they kept my feet dry.
They're nice and lightweight.
They're especially comfortable in the woods and softer surfaces.
They are sufficiently narrow in the heel so they didn't slip.
They're very inexpensive from Big Warehouse.
They're quicker to get on and off than my regular trainers, despite the laces.
The not so good:
They're not for running, at least on pavement. I did get a little twinge in my calf, nothing serious, but will stick to my Saucony's for running. It's too bad cause they felt like they should be ideal, but it's a hard landing
They're wide at the toes, so look a bit odd on my feet.
The toe box could be a bit higher. I'll stuff them with something to try to stretch them.
I could feel rocks through the soles- almost like mocassins but not quite as much.
I still prefer my Birkies, but Winter is Coming
