ACK! Christmas stuff in stores!

I was at JCP on Saturday and a display rack of plush reindeer suddenly appeared in the kid's clothing area, being carefully arranged by an associate who was whistling "Jingle Bells." I thought the 'rule' was nothing Christmas-related before Halloween! Any thoughts about rushing the joy? Is this just too early or what?

I've bought my first presents for the girls, I NEED to be organised but I do find it hard to see the Christmas cards before the Halloween items have been displayed!

I know - I saw Target rolling out the xmas items last week! I think these retail cycles are getting a little scary!!!

It is definitely too early for the Season of Joy. I usually shop all year for Christmas, buying great stuff as I find it.

Does anyone else, besides Julie (you clever girl) use this same Christmas shopping strategy, seeking and buying with a permanent list in your heads?

It's too early for me, but I think that in this economy stores are going to put things out as early as possible in hopes to sell it all.
The scary part for me is that I am solely responsible for everything to do with the holidays. Hubby is beyond clueless, and I am just not up to it this year.

LOL chewy! Most hubbies plead ignorance when it comes to anything holiday! You are right about the economy driving the displays.

Just do a little at a time and you'll be fine. I tend to not overdo Christmas - enjoying time with friends and family is what it's all about for me.

Absolutely too early! I saw several Xmas displays up at Kohls last week....its just getting ridiculous....I am burned out by the time Thanksgiving rolls around!

I saw my first lot of Christmas cards the third week of August!!!! x

Back in JULY i stopped for a quick lunch at a Cracker Barrel. They have this little country store type set up when you first walk in.....

Christmas stuff out and on display complete with tree in corner. i was shocked.

I ignore this. the winter Fall and Winter holiday season is my favorite time of the year. i like to be excited when the season genuinely comes around.

I hate Christmas! I am like the ultimate Grinch. It is just not a happy holiday in my family. Halloween is my favorite holiday. Where I am currently living we have a small apple orchard and are growing pumpkins--- I am still looking forward to caramel apples, pumpkin seeds, and jack-o-lanterns to go with the candy. I love to dress up as well.

I usually try to do all my Christmas shopping online. I get overstimulated in crowds, so I don't even like to go to the stores in December for groceries, let alone gifts.

I work in retail so I know that I will be sick of Christmas by the time it rolls around. I'm pretending that the Christmas stock did not start coming in this week!
