This red S&K coat is my first colored winter coat so I am coming across some new challenges that require YLF wisdom.
In the past, accessorizing my neutral coats was easy. I could get just about any color accessories and they would work. And they could all be different colors and it was no big deal because they were in such small doses. A white hat, black and white coat, red gloves, and a blue scarf looked completely fine.
Now I'm not sure.
How do you coordinate winter accessories and how does having a colored coat affect things?
I didn't think I'd need a scarf with this coat, but I suppose my neck must be longer than I thought because the collar is still too short for warmth. I hate to cover it up though, so I thought a neckwarmer or something I can just tuck underneath would be good. But what color should I look for? I went looking for gloves today and I LOVED how chartreuse looked with this coat. I didn't buy them yet, but if I did, I guess the scarf should be more neutral and basic. Or maybe a neutral pattern?
And hats? Yet another thing to consider. I have a white one but probably should have more. (Yes, I decided I need a hat regardless of what it does to my hair--I'm just too cold without one).
What about bags? Based on Angie's input I can get gunmetal or yellow. I think my ultimate decision hinges on what coordinates best with my winter accessories--which all revolve around this coat.
Thoughts?
