This post is inspired by the newest ensemble Angie posted on the blog. However, since the focus of my writing will be the cape rather than the white jeans, you might consider it a little deviation of the ensemble itself. (You see, I passed the white jeans trend, being a not-so-pants-friendly kind of gal and favoring shorts and dresses or skirts.)
I see that two out of the three sweaters shown in the "White jeans after Labor Day" ensemble are camel or have details on a neighboring color to camel, which make pairing them with the camel cape easy-peasy.
On online retailers or on fashion magazines, capes are often shown worn with short sleeves (so bare arms come out through the garment's openings) or with color repetition sweaters (black capes with black sweaters, camel capes with white or camel sweaters). But what about bolder, contrasting pairings? I mean black capes with light gray sleeved sweaters or cobalt blue or even nude or pink tones? Camel capes with green or red sweaters underneath?
I bat for Team Low-Contrast when it comes to capes (so black goes with black and camel goes with camel, or white - the highest of my transgression here!), but I would like to know YLFabbers take on this one! Do you mind contrasting long-sleeves peeking out of capes or are you all in and mix-and-match to your heart's delight?
