About blush

I just bought a blush 3/4 balloon sleeve thin knit sweater. It has a crew neck line so no skin showing on top. I am having second thoughts about keeping it because it really makes me look washed out. With my white hair I look ghostly. I want to wear it with black background floral pants, a white background floral skirt, and solids like white and olive. What colors for a scarf with the patterned bottoms could I wear? I have a black silk scarf but something seems off with this. I am totally at a loss when it comes to pattern mixing, so patterned scarf would look weirder to me.

Photos would really help. You might want different scarves that pick out a. color from the prints. Another choice is to repeat your eye color.

BTW, I’m having similar problems with looking washed out in colors that worked with my very dark brown hair but not my gray.

Yup- pics would help.
If you are not a scarf person- big bold statement necklace perhaps?
Or not seeing it- turtleneck or collared shirt in a bright color under sweater or layer with bright topper like cardi or blazer on top?

First time I tried blush it was a fail. 4 years later with my hair faded to a lighter colour, blush works! I pair a blush lace shell with black and white, but also with blue jean blue. I also wear it with wine.

Do you wear make-up? Maybe try a more vibrant lippie?

I think green scarves--emerald, forest green, olive; or navy; or white would be nice. If the pants have a pattern, I might keep the scarf simple to let the pants talk.

I thought the same when I first wore blush but I do really like the colour and have two blouses. I’ve stopped wearing my white blouses as a result. Make up, earrings, necklaces, scarfs all helped the colour to settle with me.

My first thought was a black scarf ... A vibrant lip is a good idea too. Blush is lovely, but can be tough!

I love blush and wear it regularly, but it does need to have a pink base otherwise it is too close to my skin tone. I love to wear blush with red tones which bring out the pink colour in the blush.

Like Bijou, I have to steer away from the peachier blushes in favor of a pale pink blush. Your problem with this top may be your skin tone, rather than your hair. People with cool skin tones look best in the true- or blue-pink blush shades. Warm skin tones glow in the pale peach or nude blushes.
