Ok, here it is: my birthday post.

Been quite a year for a lot of reasons, but this last week has been eventful.

Last Wednesday I had my first cataract surgery. This one was tricky because I have a weird astigmatism in my left eye. Well, looks like the surgeon got it right! It took a few hours after we got home for my vision to clear enough to see the difference. At dusk I walked into the bedroom and flipped on the lights and Wow! For a second I thought Mr. M had changed all the lightbulbs to brighter ones. I've asked him to get a brighter bulb for my reading lamp--now I don't need it.

I'm curious to check on all my clothing with the new clear eye. The sky is bluer and the changing tree leaves are more colorful. I can close my left eye and see how the world looked before--sort of a yellowish dingy hue on everything.

On my birthday we went for a 2.71 mile walk up and down the hills in our neighborhood. 2x what I usually do, so I'm a bit tired still. That last uphill slog!

Back to dinner: we went out to an Italian restaurant. So many of our favorite places have closed permanently because of Covid--we have to find new ones.

Because of the surgeries I can't wear eye makeup for weeks before and after, so it will be mid-December before you see me with mascara and eye shadow. I do need it at night--washed out Maven. Anyway, here I am--82 years old looking forward to new color experiments.

Wearing J Crew blazer from a couple of years ago and new Boden sparkly camel and navy stripe pullover. You can see my multi-colored hair--similar to Carla's.

The blazer has so many folds and wrinkles! I didn't 't realize it until the photos.
