Aaaaargh! Don't you just hate it when....

...you accidentally put your favourite, hand-wash-in-cold-only top in with the towels, on hot, with bleach, and then throw the whole lot in the dryer on full blast for an hour?

Dang it. I just ruined my sleeveless, cowl-neck deep pink top with a giant fly silkscreened on it. I really liked that top, and it was one of the only things in my closet that's not neutral. Deep or hot pink is one of the few brights that I feel plays well with the rest of my clothes. I like how it looks with denim, with khaki, with military green, with gray -- and I have lots of bottoms in those colours.

I'm on a jcrew kick right now, so I was having a look to see if I could replace the top with something of a similar colour. I can't find any drapey sleeveless tops in pink, but since I'm also on a bit of a fitted shirt kick, I thought I might get this in "raspberry":

I like the idea of 3/4 sleeves, since I roll mine up all the time anyway. The only thing is, the model's wearing navy, and it looks smashing, and I'm a huge fan of navy....argh must replace pink top must not be swayed by pretty neutrals....

Tina -- in my defense, I have a dusting cloth that is exactly the same colour as that pink top, and I was in a rush, and that's what I thought it was when I snatched it off the laundry room floor!

Why does this happen only to favorite stuff? Well, I guess it is because we wear them. But at least this is the time of year to find a bright sleeveless cowl top on de-e-e-p discount because the fall stuff is starting to come in. Keep you eyes peeled! I'll bet you find find the perfect replacement (or two or three) at a steal.

My husband has the habit of trying to be helpful and doing my laundry. He chucks everything in, washes it on heavy duty, and then chucks it all in the dryer on hot!

I appreciate his thoughtfulness, but he is banned from laundry!

Ha, what is it with husbands and laundry? Mine has also been forbidden to touch his or my laundry, since he has no patience for proper sorting or air drying.

So sad for you. I am completely in charge of laundry since DH totally shrunk something many years ago. I grumble, but I would rather blame only me if something goes wrong. I have been very careful of my own items, but let a few stains on DC's clothing go through dryer but they grow out of them so not as tragic.

Oh I feel your pain, I have put 2 pairs of pants in the dryer that i normally hang. Now they are a size too small

And I have banned DH And DD from doing any, any of my laundry. I told them if they ever get the urge, to do their own only, lol

Celit.. my husband helps me with the laundry... his idea is to get the basket and pick every single item and ask can i put this in ?
Sometimes I wonder if that is helping....
