I didn't start out meaning to do a week of purple, but after the 3rd day, it became a bit of a challenge, since I have fewer purple items than I had thought.
Pic 1 (Mon) - casual work in the museum day - jeans, long sleeve purple T, pinstriped blazer, black brogues. Blazer went into the Goodwill pile - it's too large and too boxy and I have others that are much better.
Pic 2 (Tues) - teaching day - black skinny jeans, black long sleeve T, purple cardi, black short boots, new purples and blues silk scarf, and new necklace (belated birthday gift from a friend)
Pic 3 (Wed) - meeting with students - same black skinny jeans, different black T, cranberry cardigan, black knee high boots. Cardigan went into the Goodwill pile. It's a perfectly adequate cardigan, but I don't love it, and I have others I like much better.
Pic 4 (Thurs) - casual work in the museum day but having both lunch and dinner with out with friends - all old stuff - jeans, purple pullover/sweater/jumper, fuchsia tweed cropped jacket, cowboy boots. The earrings are rather spectacular Peruvian opal, but don't photograph well.
Pic 5 (Fri) - was not feeling well, but had to go work and also have a meeting with my advisor - boyfriend jeans, ancient oversized pullover sweatshirt, and a scarf that is actually a really cool dark purple velvet (not black as it looks). Tried to perk of up the less than stellar outfit with some cool jewelry and my "edwardian" booties.
These were not my most inspired outfits ever, but they were appropriate and comfortable - and I would not have been embarrassed to run into an old boyfriend or a potential boss. For a busy week in the middle of November, this counts as a win.
