This was an interesting exercise for me. For context, I work in a 85,000 sq ft /4000 member medical fitness facility in membership services, where I also buy for our retail shop. I see and speak to up to 800 people a day and work with a team of about 10 people. I am mandated to wear a provided ( I select the uniforms for our team too) track-type jacket with black bottoms and top, and whatever footwear we want . About once a week , sometimes twice , I rebel and don't wear the track jacket but still wear all-black.

Anyways, the exercise showed me that my work wardrobe is a highly functioning , well-oiled machine. Most tops go with any bottom, and vice versa. I vary my look everyday by changing the silhouette and footwear. It's the only way to maintain my personal sense of style in such an environment . I spend very little time thinking about what I will wear the next day, and know I have what I need to make good outfits.

So - yes, it's hard to pull out the detail in photos of black outfits, but hopefully you can see the variety in silhouette.

Tuesday - Aritizia Lodge crepette pant, Aritzia cashmere sleeveless sweater, and Aritizia cashmere triangle scarf. Work jacket not shown. Floyd ( Little Burgundy house brand) patent shoes. I really enjoyed this look. Felt elegant and well-dressed.

Wednesday - Lululemon funnel neck scuba top, Lululemon OTF pants, Vince Camuto western style boots. I usually wore this outfit with sneakers (it's years old) but switched it up this winter by tucking the joggers into the high shaft boot. I liked this too- speaks to my sportier side yet still looks "fashion" . No work jacket today. I pretend I *might * wear it by draping it over the back of my chair.

Bonus photo of the weather here . LOL.

Thursday - BR silky poly sleeveless shell. Stretch denim barrel jeans. Steve Madden patent slingback. Work jacket shown. Actually not crazy about this combo- the top wasn't quite right with the jeans. Felt kind of off all day.

I am on my 4th reorder of these Canada toques. I brought them in a week ago in red/white and red/black for the upcoming Olympics, and for , well , Canada being Canada on the world stage ;). . Members went nuts and are buying them in multiples. I have more coming in next week. It helps that it's the coldest it's ever been in years.

Friday - second hand pinstriped blazer, nothing fancy but I LOVE the fit. It makes me feel like a million bucks when I wear it and people respond to me very differently too - no one argued with me - and that's a big deal in a public facing job where you get tossed the most ridiculous things every day . Worn over a BR short sleeve drape-y boat neck ponte top, and black cropped flared jeans. Basic black block heeled boots. Loved this look although our CEO gave me the side -eye once or twice. I don't reach for my cropped flares much now - they used to be a "signature look" but I do still like them now and then.

Thanks for looking, and all comments welcome ! Happy Friday :).

And no, I do not show my upper arms in public in the winter even though they don't quite look this bad IRL.
