A to-die-for spring/summer day dress?

As we prepare to leave in 12 days to go back to Indonesia, I'm in the final days of American shopping. I'm wondering if anyone has seen a wonderful spring/summer day dress that is modest-ish for a rectangle/delicate hourglass, and would be willing to share where you found it?

I have found some great ones from Nordstrom, J Crew outlet, and Boden....anywhere I'm not thinking of?

I have been shopping like a crazed person, and can't wait to show you some of my outfit concoctions! (I even bought a pair of matchstick jeans from JCrew and am having them tailored into clams!)

I really like the following, it is super light weight and very modest, I tried it on and then ordered it in navy and iris. It runs a little big - I am usually a 4 and it was too big, so I got a 2.

That Lands End dress is so cute. Thanks for the link and the size info too! Would you be able to share how long it is? I couldn't find it on the website.

I am 5'6'' and it hits me barely above the knee in a size 4 ( I don't know where the 2 will fall. )

Remember, you can always return to Sears if you don't like it so that you pay no shipping for return.

I tried on the Target dress, the print is fabulous, but the fabric was very stiff and heavy and it was very short for someone my age ( 45 ) .

Someone on the forum (San?) has a Patagonia dress they like. 6pm.com has several. They are sleeveless but some are modest in length. here's an example:

I have a 'free shipping' code for Land's End in case you end up ordering the dress Isabel posted. ([blushing] Which I did...in two colors as well!)

I ordered it in the Iris and Spice Brown colors. It arrived today and I absolutely LOVE everything about this great little dress! The cut and fabric are just beautiful; it's super light weight as you described -- but the silky sheen to the fabric was an unexpected bonus. This dress can go casual or be dressed up and will be perfect for the hottest days of summer. Thanks again for the great suggestion. I wish I could get one in the navy shade too. Love it, thanks again!

Claudia - that makes me sooo happy !! It is nice to share. I LOVE mine, too.

I would recommend that after you wash it, if you want to iron, use an ironing cloth or do it inside out so that we don't affect the slight sheen !

I wish that we could have a LE summer dress lunch on a hot day with lemonade : )

Isabel - A summer luncheon with lemonade sounds divine! I'm sitting here freezing, but in my head I am picturing a wrought iron table and chairs set up on a grassy lawn with a soft breeze blowing. The sea is off in the distance, and oh yes, we are eating tea sandwiches and little cakes! Can you tell I'm ready for winter to be done?
