Some weeks back when we were all doing our Chanel copycat looks, I decided I needed a black bag with chain handles. Found a nice Coach tote on eBay for a great price and have been reasonably happy with it, although it was a little bigger and less structured than I'd expected.
Fast forward to last week, when my BFF showed up at our tap dancing class with a black Coach tote of her own, also purchased from eBay. It was a fraternal twin to mine -- same purple lining but smaller, more structured, and with gold studs instead of a silver chain. I complimented her on it and she thanked me but was not all that enthusiastic.
Fast forward again to last night, with the two of us all dressed up to go out to a club for a fundraiser. Both with our black bags, neither of use really loving the one we had, but totally coveting the other's (photo 1). She really wanted one with a chain, and felt like the gold was too.. gold! I, on the other hand, was LOVING the gold trim.
You can see where this is going, right? Yep! This morning, after a very fun sleepover and multiple rounds of "are you SURE?", we traded! And now we are both happy, each bag is in its proper home, and order has been restored to the universe!
