A tale of two outfit choices ...

Hola! I am going to see a Christmas Carol & have narrowed down what I might wear to two choices (I think).
One outfit is more traditionally festive and one is a quirkier pattern mix. I am torn, any input is weclcome! Here are the dresses, earrings & shoes but haven’t decided about the hose/tights yet.

Super tough choice! What’s the theater like? Older, more formal venue, or something more modern? Are you planning dinner/drinks before/after? Do you think one outfit would work better in those settings? Would you want the longer sleeves for extra warmth?

I don’t think you can go wrong either way. I’m drawn to the first dress,but appreciate the second dress definitely can look holiday.

-Kathie, it used to be at a really neat old theatre but they moved to a larger & more homogeneous modern place. Definitely drinks. I think if I opt for the metallic print dress would top with a cropped black or rose gold colored cashmere sweater for warmth when/if needed.

These are both beautiful! I'm tempted to vote for the first dress because I think the non-traditional twist on a holiday look is so cool ... But truly they are both great choices imo.

Thank you, torontogirl! I really liked the thought of that too, wearing something atypical. I was toying with the idea of the first for the play & the second maybe for dinner/drinks on NYE.
It’s nice to get everyone’s feedback.

- I was thinking of nude for me hose with the first & either sheer black, black lace or nude with rose sparkle for the second.

FUN! I really like both dresses/ outfits. I think the colours of the first one feel festive as does the pattern mix. And the second will be a little bit unexpected with the heeled oxfords.

Thanks Suz, I have so few opportunities to dress up that it makes it harder for me to choose when I do.
I am guilty of having dresses just hang out for ages unworn, chillin’ in my closet.
Part of my conflict here is that the first dress is my fave but the other seems even less likely for me to ‘just wear’ bc of the metallic foil print, so I thought maybe this should be its chance.
I need to just wrap my head around a pretty or ‘nighttime’ feeling dress, just because and stop waiting for occasions!
Because let’s face it, occasions in my casual world are few & far between. （＾ν＾）
