We went to a fashion show last night. While on the escalator to the show, I saw a lovely lady - 70 years plus - wearing a neon pink suit with cropped pants. I complimented her on her look straight away while we were going up.

I also complimented her on her black and white vertically striped satchel handbag. It was bold, graphic, very simple - and amongst the most beautiful handbags I've seen. I WANT A BAG JUST LIKE IT.

The lovely lady said that it was a Celine that she had bought 35 years ago. It was still going strong and looked utterly timeless. Both modern and retro.

*That* is what I call a true investment piece.

(And I was carrying Ms. Valentino - which will also look as wonderful 30 years from now).

Food for thought.
