The power went out on the subway this morning so I had plenty of time to think and ponder over GoldenPigs thread about the capsules. I share her difficulty in really jumping into the project. Many of you said in her thread that it is a very worthwhile exercise, so I spent my subway time at least finding some pieces. Is this a good basis (seed) for the exercise?
I tried to base on the bottoms as neutrals and color scheme of maroon, white, black on tops. I feel most uncertain about tops. Should I switch out something? Are they too alike?
3 pants: green khaki cargos, my faded BF jeans, black orphan jersey dress
2 jackets: Denim + white/black moto
6 tops: maroon turtle sweater, black thin turtle, white long arm tshirt, maroon plaid lumberjack shirt, white lace tank top, maroon/navy patteren blouse
I kinda felt that maybe the black thin turtle and white lace tank should not count as they are obviously layering pieces I would never wear alone.
Accessories: maroon heeled shoes, black riding boots, maroon snake purse, maroon scarf with ethnic pattern, white vest, black belt
I obviously have maroon covered. Would you add another accent color in somehow?
I already ID'd one hole, I didn't have any other belt that would fit into this capsule and not be too obvious. I have lots of attention grabbing belts but none fit in to all combinations. What would you suggest for a belt?
Thanks for any help. I will do the trying on next week when my BF is not staying with me and I don't need to hide what I am up to!
(I see the black turtle & belt is missing in the picture, oops)
